I am using a hardware synth--a Moog Little Phatty--it records the automation for my hardware knobs just the same. I'll experiment with some of the tips here. thanks.

You need to go into preferences and make sure remote control is enabled for your controller. Then simply assign knobs and faders to your synth params using MIDI map mode.

I figured out how to do automation, but my specific questions is: if I have a midi loop running, and I tweak synth params ...

I have the Edirol PCR-800 and I like it. It has good synth action and a good smattering of knobs and sliders and the crossfader is nice too.

I'm debating picking up a Studiologic controller for piano action though.

i have an m-audio keystation unfortunately it doesn't have any "knobs."

Does anyone know of a VST plugin you can put on a MIDI track in Live to tranpose notes? I need to do it by channel, so the built in Live ones won't do.
