Re: Outputting to multiple MIDI channels
Right - I tried this, but the way Ableton works, it takes ALL the MIDI data that Max is outputting (on multiple channels) and combines it into one channel so that even if another MIDI track is listening on just one channel, it is receiving all the MIDI data.

Re: Outputting to multiple MIDI channels
Thanks for the reply, not quite sure what you're getting at though - could you elaborate?

Outputting to multiple MIDI channels
I've built a M4L device that acts as a sequencer, capable of sending out data on 4 different MIDI channels. But I just realized that Live only allows a track to output to one MIDI channel. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have no idea to get around it - Max is great because in the program...

Ableton struggles and crashes when freezing tracks
I have a really large set I'm using for a live performance that is taking up a lot of CPU. In an effort to reduce the load I've tried freezing some of the tracks but Ableton is crashing almost every time I try to freeze one of them. I'm sure the problem is with this particular live set because I've ...

Copying + Pasting velocity without notes
I have a 2 versions of a bass line for a track I'm working on. The 2nd version has slightly different notes, but I would like to use the velocity data (without the notes of course) from the 1st version. I'm playing and recording everything in. I'm wondering if there's any way to copy JUST the veloci...

Re: Recording Latency
Couple of things... Do you have the recording track's monitor set to ON or AUTO? This will always introduce a certain delay or offset in the recorded material. The trick is to leave monitoring set to OFF and monitor the incoming audio directly through your audio interface via zero-latency or direct...

Recording Latency
Okay - even though I've been recording for a long time, I'm about to ask a really newbie question. I'm recording the audio from a drum machine through a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. The drum machine's clock is being controlled by Ableton's via midi. My latency is only about 5 ms - buffer size is 88 and s...

External Effect Routing w/ Scarlett 6i6
Does anyone have any experience using the External Audio Effect device with a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 as your audio interface? I just can't seem to get the routing correct, resulting in a whole lot of distortion and frustration. This is in large part due to Scarlett's counterintuitive Mix Control sof...

Weird delay effect between synthesizers
I'm working on a session that has two distinct synth sounds - I have Ableton's Operator playing a repeating arpeggio, and I have a pad I made in FM8 with a long release on it. I'm getting a weird effect where the the Operator seems to be causing the FM8 pad to have this delay-type effect - I can't r...

Re: Upgraded to Live 9, experiencing a lot of crackling
No, it doesn't record. My problem is somewhere between Ableton and the RME driver I'd say. As I said I've become resigned to it. They have got rid of the worst offenders, so for me it's now less than a tenth of the issue it once was. Your issue sounds different. I'd wiggle all your cables and tap a...

Re: Upgraded to Live 9, experiencing a lot of crackling
I still experience a lot of crackling with Live 9, I use a totally different system to you though. An RME fireface. L9 has crackled quite a lot since part way through the betas and although they have managed to track down a few of the culprits, I am still left with quite a crackly program when comp...

Re: Upgraded to Live 9, experiencing a lot of crackling
It happens whenever I play audio through a record-enabled track, both during recording and not.[jur] wrote:Does it only happen when you're recording?

Re: Upgraded to Live 9, experiencing a lot of crackling
I feel like I read somewhere recently that there is a firmware update for the MBox, have you applied that? I downloaded the most recent drivers for the MBox 2, but I can't seem to find anything about updated firmware. There was a firmware update for third-generation MBoxes, but mine isn't covered i...
