Re: Macbook pro + Live 10 issues

I'm researching buying a new Mac to upgrade from my 2013 iMac i7, which has been great but is getting on. My main takeaway is to not buy a MacBook Pro. They simply don't have the chassis size to provide sufficient cooling for the kind of processors modern producers demand. Buy an iMac or something w...

Mac Pro 7.1 users

Are there any 2019 Mac Pro users on here?

If so can you post your specs and the amount of tracks you can utilise in Ableton Live. Also how do find it overall for making music with Ableton?

I'm considering the 12 or 16 core with base level GPU and will upgrade RAM aftermarket.

Thanks

Re: Anyone using iMac Pro on Live 10? Strange performance

It has 3GHz and that’s not really enough power per core if u are running CPU intensive VSTs.. when it comes to music production quad core is enough and anything above it is really over kill! For example, a 4ghz quad core will outperform a 3GHz 10 core computer any day because it has more power per ...

Of course everyone know it's happening Tuesday. How could you not be aware of? Do you really think that this kind of business things are kept secret?

Ableton Sale in 2019

I notice Ableton declined to offer a sale to customers in the holiday season.

Does anyone know when we may see another sale for Live in 2019?

I'm hoping for the summer, as it's been a while!

Not familiar with Recondite, but Machinedrum doesn't use only Operator ;).
Sorry I should have said almost exclusively, Recondite is a major techno artist.

The sustain pedal, yes. It's a sipmple switch. And it's meant to model a piano's sustain pedal, which lifts the dampers off the strings while stomped on.
Thanks very much!

Piano Sustain in Live

Hi there, I'm new to using piano VSTs. Just playing around with Keyscape and an NI piano in Kontakt and I've set the sustain to my mod wheel. It seems the amount of sustain is fixed to either full or none - at 64 it becomes full sustain from (0-128). I guess this is normal behaviour for a pedal? I w...

Re: MIDI CC automation issue - Hardware Synth KIWI-3P

Tested CC data today, a bussy miditrack with drawn CC 71 and CC 74, also very bussy - but no problems as well on a hardware synth as with the softsynth massive from NI. Have you got sync set in the prefs page on the midiconnection to your hardwaresynth? Try to disable it if so, and see what happens...

Re: MIDI CC automation issue - Hardware Synth KIWI-3P

You should contact Ableton's support. I'd like to know what's happening, out of curiosity. I've had extensive contact with Ableton support, unfortunately there's nothing they can do. Live's MIDI just doesn't work well with the Kiwi-3P. Here's their last message to me. "I'll to pass the message alon...

Just incase anyone has any ideas before I switch DAW?

The MIDI automation is working great in Logic and Bitwig.
