Has anyone used the RME UCX with CV tools? Outputs 7/8 are DC Coupled but I've not seen any definitive testaments to their compatibility with CV Tools. I'm looking to modulate analog CV Ins with LFOs and Envelops.
Open to other suggestions if this one isn't workable.

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
I came to the conclusion that the very slightly higher i7 clock speed is probably less useful than another 2 cores/4 virtual cores. Not just for DAW use but also for photo editing and processing. At least the choice isn’t between a much faster cpu with fewer cores and a considerably slower one with...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
Back on track this is a good run down from Ableton regarding the more cores vs higher clock speed question: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209067649-Multi-core-CPU-handling-FAQ More cores, slower clock speed Pros Live supports multi-threading, therefore the more cores are available, the ...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
What's the consensus? i7 with 8cores 3.8Ghz or i9 with 10 core 3.6Ghz I'm considering the baseline graphics card, 5500XT, I use Adobe Illustrator and InDesign so wouldn't think I need to upgrade here. obviously the i9. but the uP you described leaves out a LOT of details. depending on the Ge...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
Ok. I'll copy the data into the performance test thread as well. This is without adjusting the WindowServer refresh rate using an options.txt file - which often seem to improve Live 10's performance on Macs. Interface RME UFX, though the Mac's sound system gave identical results at 16 tracks. Looks...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
A run through the Live 1- Suite demo song with my RME UFX set to 32 samples latency (5.56ms round trip`) is glitch-free and has Live's meter averaging around 16% with a couple of momentary readings of 20%. Activity Monitor shows cpu usage, system and user combined is around 6-8% once Utility Manage...

Re: iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
It’s early days and I’m still installing things, but so far indications are it runs everything I’ve thrown at it without any problems at all. Compared to my 6 year old i7 MBP it’s like going from driving a Volkswagen Beetle to a Maseratti. Thanks for chiming in! I'm interested to hear what you make...

iMac 2020 i7 vs i9 processor
I'm about to upgrade my 2013 3.5 quad core i7 to the last intel iMac. I've decided not to wait for Apple silicon for a number of reasons. My decision mainly comes down to the 3.8GHz 8 core i7 or the 3.6GHz 10 core i9. I'm looking to get 64GB of RAM and one of the better GPU cards for my visual work....

Re: Macbook pro + Live 10 issues
I'm researching buying a new Mac to upgrade from my 2013 iMac i7, which has been great but is getting on. My main takeaway is to not buy a MacBook Pro. They simply don't have the chassis size to provide sufficient cooling for the kind of processors modern producers demand. Buy an iMac or something w...

Mac Pro 7.1 users
Are there any 2019 Mac Pro users on here?
If so can you post your specs and the amount of tracks you can utilise in Ableton Live. Also how do find it overall for making music with Ableton?
I'm considering the 12 or 16 core with base level GPU and will upgrade RAM aftermarket.
Thanks
