Live Arp without metronome ?
Hi all, This one is a tricky topic for me, I hope I can explain it properly. My target (which I can't seem to achieve at the moment) is: I'd like to play live and use arpeggiator, without an in ear metronome. Here's an example to explain where I'm stuck: - Let's assume that at a specific gig I'm pla...

Re: How to sample a vst synth ?
YES !
Didn't know sampler was able to manage multiple samples at once - and kept trying to build racks which was a pain.
Thanks a lot.

How to sample a vst synth ?
Hello, I have a track I've composed, that I would like to play live. To reduce the CPU load, I'd like to transform each VST synth into simpler / sampler. I don't want to freeze the complete synth track, I still want to be able to play the synth on my MIDI keyboard, live. (I know I will lose my cc/mo...

Re: transpose MIDI computer keyboard by half-step via keystrokes
Hello, My humble contribution as a fellow Live user. No simple solution comes to mind, but 3 ideas: - Install ClyphX and use it to +1/-1 on the pitch midi FX - or: build a m4l patch that does it (if you have suite, and a bit of time to dig into m4l). There might be some online, I don't know. - or: (...

Launch previous scene
Hello, I'd love to be able to launch the previous scene via a midi controller. Currently I can do this only in 2 steps (map button 1 to "select previous scene" and button 2 to "launch selected scene"), I'd like to do it in 1 step only. This would make Live able to behave like gui...

Re: Reset metronome when launching scene
Hello again, Thanks Tone Deft for your reply - it does keep the sync between scenes, but it's not quite what I want, since it doesn't sync with the main clock (and for example all the next scenes that have quantised launched don't launch exactly at the right time). And thanks chapelier fou for your ...

Re: Reset metronome when launching scene
Tanks clydesdale for your answer. I tried changing time signature by renaming scenes and it also doesn't work :-(. The global clock does change its time signature, but it's not reset when launching scene 2. Yes, scene 1 is in 4/4. I've also tried using 1/16th as quantization for scene 2 but it also ...

Re: Reset metronome when launching scene
Thanks for your answers ! I haven't tried with ClyphX but although it looks quite useful for a lot of stuff (didn't know it - looks useful, thanks!) I doubt it would work here: I've tried resetting BPM by renaming the scene but it doesn't work - I've also tried midi mapping the metronome value (via ...

Reset metronome when launching scene
Hello, Is it possible in Ableton Live 9 to reset the metronome when launching a scene? Say I have 3 scenes (all at the same BPM) and scene 1 is playing. I want to be able to launch scene 2 whenever I want, and that the click syncs with it when launching it. If I set quantization to "none" ...

Re: Using both sequencers in Rewire
Hello, Thanks for your answer ! Unfortunately this does not solve my problem - this setting is already checked in Reason. I got another answer from a Reason forum, which works: Add a Live track that takes the audio output from the Reason effects, and record it while Reason is in the foreground. It's...

Using both sequencers in Rewire
Hello, I'm using Reason 7 as Rewire slave to Ableton Live 9. I would like to process a recorded audio into some Reason's effects. I know Rewire doesn't allow sending audio from Live to Reason, so I've put the audio directly into Reason's sequencer. The problem is, sometimes Reason seems to stop read...

Re: Control Reason knobs in rewire with Push
Thanks, it does look interesting!
However, is there not a more generic solution? That would also work with my other controllers? I know I'm asking a lot, but it seems incredible to me that it's not a standard feature of Live somewhere.

Control Reason knobs in rewire with Push
Hello, I'm using Reason 7 in Rewire with Live 9 as master on OS X. Can I control Reason knobs (e.g. combinator rotaries) with Ableton Push? I manage to send midi notes by using an external instrument, but can't find a way to send CC messages. I've already read several threads on this topic but the o...

Re: Native Instruments Razor
I also have it and like it a lot. Sounds great and is easy to use.
The only drawback is that it requires quite a lot of cpu - I can't run more than 3-4 tracks at the same time (unless I freeze of course).
Cheers,
Moussa

Re: Rewire Reason 7 into Ableton 9
This does help a lot ! Thanks.
I was running Live in 32 and Reason in 64 bits. Now all works fine.
Thanks again!
