Reddit x Ableton = Abletonnit!
Hey ableton community, I'm sure a deal of you are on reddit, and while I would agree to someone declaring that these forums are the best source for ableton questions, sometimes the format of reddit could be helpful to the community too! So I present to you the  Ableton Subreddit :!: If you're...

Where/How to find stems of indie band songs for remixing?
Does anyone know where to source stems (the isolated vocal, drums, keys, guitar, etc) of a particular song, specifically from mid-level popularity indie bands? I'd love to get the clean vocal track for some songs for remix project purposes but cannot find a single source on the internet that has thi...

Re: Anyone throw away a song they've been working on for days?
Theres a good chance you will then learn a little bit more about melodies, before you go back to nit-picky effects stuff. Point is your ALWAYS learning, and every bit of creativity should be explored Oh man that's me right on the dot. I'll spend hours fucking with the filter frequency and envelopes...

Re: Anyone throw away a song they've been working on for days?
:) Many thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I should just move on from the track and revisit it later once my brain has had time to decompress on it for a while and most definitely save every .als file I make . I never thought of the idea of juggling multiple tracks simultaneously for some reas...

Anyone throw away a song they've been working on for days?
I've been working on a track for a few days now. I'd say it's somewhere around 60% completion as far as riffs and parts but only about 20% of the way of cohesiveness (in arrangement and ideas on how to do transitions, etc). I've got a handful of definitely cool-sounding, unique custom instruments I'...

Re: Recommend an external audio soundcard now that FW400=dead
Fw400 devices work on fw800 connections. You just need to buy an adapter which are cheap. Fw is going strong. It just looked dodgy for one revision. It's not the first time Apple have done this. They tried a few years back. so you're saying buy a nice fw400 audio interface / sound card and just get...

Recommend an external audio soundcard now that FW400=dead
I know well that Firewire400 is pretty much "the" standard for pro external audio equipment for computers. However, now that Apple has pretty much axed the firewire port completely on their entire iMac, Mac Pro, and Macbook * lines... all there is left is Firewire800. Since the audio hardw...

How to slice up an Acapella into MIDI & maintain new tempo?
So I've got an acapella track that I've managed to adjust perfectly with the tempo of my song (or remix, persay). So I've got one (1) warp marker (and no others) at where the acapella appropriately starts and have set the tempo to 156.99 and it matches up great via the "Warp Straight" cont...

How to import samples into Sampler w/ center root key?
Hey everyone, I wanted to know if there was a way in ableton to import samples into Sampler and distribute them equally across the keyboard spectrum while making the root key only occupy one cell (one key) and make the range only one key as well. When you do "Distribute Evenly around Root Key&q...
