Re: Music tuned to 432Hz wtf!?

I am against getting into pointless arguments. Meaning that you concede that arguing against TomViolenz's point is pointless? If so I agree wholeheartedly. If you get satisfaction out of winning a forum argument  . To me this is all food for thought. If your brains aren't hungry, then carry o...

Re: Music tuned to 432Hz wtf!?

I'd like to say that there is a fine like between science and mysticism. One of the points I am making is that there is no reason (except arrogance imo) to say one is more valid than the other. I think mysticism or magic or any number of terms for it may have a better chance of explaining how the u...

Re: Music tuned to 432Hz wtf!?

The 432 thing says that 432 is magical, like gravity  You believe in gravity, right? Well then you too believe in magic.

Re: Music tuned to 432Hz wtf!?

I don't understand all the hate. People seem to be really attached to 440. Also seems that people get ticked off at the possibility that "modern science" and understanding isn't the pinnacle of all knowledge. Personally I am somewhat agnostic on the 432 thing, but since for example no scie...

Re: Music tuned to 432Hz wtf!?

Google up "cymatics". It turns out if you play sounds under a surface with sand or other media on it, it makes pretty amazing designs at certain frequencies. Youtube has videos where you can see it happening. As the pitch goes higher and higher, the designs get more complex. They change at...

Re: Does musical theory is needed in electronic music ?

Music theory isn't necessary for making any kind of music. Lots of great musicians play by ear and make beautiful music. It does come in handy however if you know it. Music theory to music making is sort of like grammar is to speaking. Children and many adults speak without knowing any grammar rules...

Re: Prepping a mix for mastering

I am a noob, but I am a motivated one, and according to what I've learned recently, you should remove all master bus effects, and turn down the individual sliders, shooting for around -6db. You can command or control click to select them all and lower together so as not to upset your mix. Also turn ...

Re: Which laptop to buy for production and live performance?

Also OSX has some built in features that make running multiple audio apps with midi sync easy to setup and similar with connecting in MIDI from iPads etc over WiFi. - these are all extra plusses for me. I happen to like the multi-touch track pads etc well along with the gestures in OSX and the way ...

Re: How do I fix the latency I hear when I DI my guitars etc..

Some interfaces have a basic effects set to direct monitor like explained above. So you will have reverb, eq, compression etc, all done on the interface with little/no latency.
Presonus and Focusrite are two makers that have this, I am sure there are others.

Re: Which laptop to buy for production and live performance?

I went with a Windows laptop at first, and it worked ok. But glitchy little problems seemed to keep rearing their ugly heads. Sold it and got a Macbook Pro (I got a 13 inch) and I feel foolish for not knowing about how much better they are before. Works great. If you are tight on cash, and not plann...

You will find some scales named differently depending on who you ask. So in answer to your topic question, yes there ends up being confusion.

I am pretty sure that is exactly the same as the trackpad on the Macbook Pro's, and if it is, it works well for me.

Re: Best controller for iPad?

I love Touchable on my ipad 3. Having some screen problems so ordered a refurb ipad 4, but second guessing it due to the mini being more powerful. Does anyone use any of these apps (touchable especially) on an ipad mini? Are you bugged by less screen real estate? I have Touchable on a regular sized...
