Click and drag the pad assignment to any new pad within the columnar matrix running down the left hand side of the drum rack. It sounds like Live recognizes the number of pads just fine. I'm not familiar with that controller, but it sounds like when you're switching banks, you're just bracketing up to the next tier of pads that are assigned to that particular drum rack.
