Re: RMS meters too high?
Ok the answer is ... thete are different standards for rms meters. LIve uses a standard that is based on a sine wave at 0dB giving an RMS of 0dB. The reference level of the RMS is arbitrary since the RMS is not audio, its a value based on the audio. Hence different standards of what level the RMS sh...

RMS meters too high?
I've been trying a few different RMS meters on my master track , mvMeter2 by TB Proaudio, and various M4L devices. all of them give similar readings.
However, for any audio, they are all consistently about 3 or 4dB lower than Live's RMS meters on the master track. Why is this?

Externals for handling sysex in Max for Live?
I'm aware of these externals: - leigh hunt's lh_ objects, for which I can't find a live link - these imp. objects http://www.theimpersonalstereo.com/max-externals/ - and the lmh_m4l_midi object http://www.sigabort.co/m4l_tools.html all of them seem to have problems. - lh_objects are stable but it ca...

Device to microtune hardware synths
Here is a hardware polysynth micro-tuner that uses a Scala archive within the device, and uses a graphic to represent the current scale. Also has a mono synth mode which retains portamento slides.

Managing project files in m4l
say a frozen device uses a particular patch X which I have in my search path. If I edit the patch X , the device still uses The old version , and when I unfreeze it a project folder gets put in max7/max for live devices, containing the old patch X, which it refers to over the new one. That sort of m...

Re: Automapping/Blue Hand up to 24 knobs
You can probably do this by using two or three midi remote scripts that are cover all your knobs, across different banks. I did this fairly easily for my nord lead, I can have 24 knobs blue hand enabled. You have to send a couple of bank change messages to live somehow, so you have one script on ban...

Re: Plugin Delay Compensation and MIDI clock sync delay
Try using all of your hardware with those devices. I already am. I've contacted support about this and they agreed there is a problem with MIDI clock compensation that needs addressing - "It would indeed be useful if Live would automatically adjust MIDI Clock Sync Delay as needed when adding E...

Re: Plugin Delay Compensation and MIDI clock sync delay
I'm thinking that Live evaluates all devices, then compensates to put them in time together (ext Instrument included), then mixer, then track delay. So it seemz like, in my mind, you are correctly compensating on one measurement and then using an independent measurement to throw the first one, off....
