Analog mixing "is" summing.

Some summing boxes do not alter the levels. It is a non-adjustable analog mixer. Levels are set before sending to the box.
More recent ones may be digital controlled analog mixers. In any event, the actual signal path and "mixing" are analog.

IMac is good buy and might work but new software complete needed.
The IMac was really tempting except for need for all new software (except LIVE!). Complete around $1300. Neat, Friend there is DJ, uses one LIVE!

If you are triggering a plug-in in LIVE!, it should stop.

If using another MIDI tone generator, external or other software, use MIDIOX between LIVE! and the player ard you can send a panic from MIDIOX.
You COULD embed an "ALL NOTES OFF" in a MIDI clip and play it.

I Have 1 tracka with guitar part A for 10 measures.

When I try to record on that SAME track to lay down part B, I start the recording a few measures before part A ends. As you know I can erase the lead in time of the new clip that is recording over part A.
