Thanks for the detailed explanation I am definitely going to give that a shot tonight.

Finally got Live 9 Suite installed (which took a bit longer than expected) but now I am ready to go!

So I got the Push last night and it's incredible. I am waiting to get Live 9 Suite (which arrives today) installed before I really try to learn Live. But I was able to make these two loops in about 45 mins (I know they're awful and not mixed well at all) so I thought I would share!

Teal and orange makes way more sense to me because I am actually color blind. So this hack makes more sense than you'll ever know!

I agree. I would rather not have anything holding me back from the beginning.

After reading through that page and even getting PMs from a few of you (thanks so much btw) about how important the instruments are I've decided to get Live 9 Suite.

I managed to pick up the Suite w/ DVDs off of Amazon for a bit cheaper than going through Ableton's store. And ...

While googling Secrets of House Music Production I found out they have and iPad app with interactive examples. Probably gonna have a look at that.

My friend actually has a Launchpad so I've played with it before. I really like it but I come from a background of playing multiple instruments (drums, guitar, bass, trumpet) so I think that the musical instrument aspect of the Push ...

I actually got some advice from a producer friend and he seemed pretty confident it was a good starting place. And once I realized I could upgrade later it seemed like a low risk option. Not to mention I went on a YouTube binge and got really excited about what it could do.
