if you do some haggling, you may be able to find a motu ultralite under 500, has done well by me for several months now, under vista.

10 ins, 10 outs, spdif, midi in out, phantom power, pads, sounds great.

what recomendations do you gents suggest for a limiter?

ive been using the waves l2/l3 's, aswell as the nomad bluetubes eq's with limiters, but always open for new suggestions.....

the remote should work just fine.

what changes does the new update offer? im at work and cant go to the novation site from here......

im using vista aswell, but have been lucky with clean install and working fine from first go.

might i ask, what audio interface are you currently running, and which install of ableton?

radio shack / tandy also has some knobs that ive used for replacement on a few pieces and mixers, have that old school look, and pointers.

they also use set screws so you can fit them to tons of different shafts.....

couldnt he also use a send, and automate the sends accordingly thru arrangement view?

in other words, route your first effect on send a, second effect on send b, and so on, then thru arrangement mode, automate which send is sent for each sequenced clip....

forgot to mention, the emu 0404 pci i used for several years before upgrading was probably the best under $100 card ive ever heard, and had plenty of in and out, digital and midi for your stated needs. not sure on thier current vista support, would check the site to be positive there, and i also not...

with my motu ultralite, outputs 1 and 2 are for the headphone amp, 11-12 are the mains.

you need to activate outputs 11 and 12 in the preferences, then set main to that, and try again!
