Re: Hardware Synths - anyone using the Korg R3 or other older synths?

LOL, old stuff is pretty much all I own!

Korg MS2000R
Korg Electribe ER-1
Novation Bass Station Rack
Yamaha DX7s

I picked up some newer stuff last year, but the bulk of my studio continues to be old stuff, and they continue to get a lot of use. :D

New Album Released Today

Hey All, Just had a track released by the Silure Albinos Fishing Club label, track 1 on their new compilation of water-themed Ambient music. Available on all the typical platforms: streaming, digital download, and a very limited number of cassettes. https://fanlink.to/SAFC02 Co-created with "how the...

Re: Music Visualizers for posting to YouTiube

Syphon is Mac, Spout is Windows.... They're applications that allow the transference of visuals and audio between applications. Ah, good to know. If you don't have MaxforLive it limits your options to be honest. This would be one reason to go with Remixvideo. It loads into live on a MIDI track as a...

Re: Music Visualizers for posting to YouTiube

If you have MAxforLive already you can do it from within Live... https://isotonikstudios.com/product-category/maxforlive/visual-devices/ Depends how Pro you want to go, the World Collection does generative visuals which you can record with a sc reencapture software or export to Syphon/Spout to reco...

Music Visualizers for posting to YouTiube

Someone recently recommended that I start creating visuals to go with my tracks and that got me wandering around the web looking for ideas. Anyone have any experience with any of the online visualizer-generating services like Renderforest or Videobolt? Or add-on software packages like Remixvideo? Lo...

Re: MIDI Interface and Audio Interface

I'm using Ableton 10 Suite. I have two external synthesizers and a MOTU 828x audio interface. The MOTU 828x has a MIDI I/O but I am not connecting anything to those ports at the moment. If I want to be able to send MIDI Output from Ableton to the two keyboards do I need a MIDI interface that connec...

Re: Can't hear Audio sound from Windows&Youtube while using Live

THIS WORKED - You are amazing. THANK YOU :) I had this same problem, but found a way to fix it. In my system, the problem was that Live was set to use 48k Hz sampling, but Windows was set to 44.1k Hz sampling. Click the speaker icon down in the lower right corner of your tray, open up Playback Devi...

Re: Keylab or Komplete Control mKeyboards

I prefer the keyboard controller to be as simple as it can, like the Roland A49, and add something like Push for controlling the DAW: But if you want other option: Roland APro line as nice keys. That looks like a pretty nice option. It's about 1/3 more expensive than the other controllers I've look...

Re: Keylab or Komplete Control mKeyboards

After looking at reviews for Arturia, M-Audio, and Novation on SoundOnSound, I'm starting to think I need to reconsider an Impulse61. I have an Impulse25 and have always thought it was pretty decent, but they do tend to be a bit bulkier than other controllers I've seen and the key action doesn't hav...

Re: Keylab or Komplete Control mKeyboards

Arturia stuff maps to their own synths only and it can even change presets from the keylab. Curious about this... I'm looking at a Keylab myself. According to Arturia's website, the sliders, encoders, buttons, and transport controls are assignable to any DAW, and several of them are supposedly assi...

Re: Live 10 Standard...No Way!

First of all, being 64bit only it is not compatible with better half of my plugins while being nearly the same as Live9. What's the point? So i paid extra to say goodbye to Pro53 and Absynth4? Nice :( I feel your pain, as someone who is still on 32-bit as well, but the writing is on the wall... Wav...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

Audient - they make a selection of high quality but cheap interfaces - apparently very good for the money if you are looking at budget. This is what I was looking for! Just checked out the Audient iD14 and it seems perfect for my needs. I've always heard great things about Audient's sound quality a...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

Good point, @jlgrimes. Here's what I've figured out so far: Stuff I Have: Laptop: Dell XPC 15/Windows 10/64-bit (just purchased) Novation Circuit: Fun sequencer and access to two 6-voice synths. Not completely in love with the synth engines, but time away from the studio will push me to design my ow...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

The smaller Focusrite Scarlett's might be a good route - they're a bargain, and pretty darn tough to boot. Yeah, I thought about that. I had a Scarlett 2i4 in the past, and actually have a Scarlett 18i6 stashed with some of my unused gear. I could just use that but figured there were some compact r...

Re: MIDI Problems with vintage hardware synth Yamaha TX81Z

You don't mention if you changed the Axiom's MIDI mode. Page 32 of the Axiom manual says that you have to turn the USB-MIDI-to-MIDI-out feature on, and that then disables any keyboard actions from using the MIDI out port. So you would consciously have to switch back and forth, depending on what you'...
