Hi Todd,
I think the easiest way to do this, is to use Lives Session-view.
- open 16 Miditracks
- output of each Miditrack to your USB/Midi
- Midichannel is set 1-16
- add your midifile folder to Live´s browser
- now you can drag and drop the complete Midifiles in the slots of the Miditracks

Live normally stop all devices in all Miditracks when you hit the spacebar. This makes sense for all tracks with Montitorswitch is on "Auto". But for a Live performance it is necessarily that you can for example hold a chord on a Keyboard and stop the sequenzer without cutoff the Notes ...
