$10? Sorry dude; I'm poor and I've never paid for a M4L device before.
Looks like you put work into it though, I understand charging.

Re: all fx disable shortcut
I started mapping my guitar amp simulators' oversampling params together to a single knob because they're resource hogs heads-and-shoulders above all other VSTs/devices. It'd be a pain in the ass to map EVERYTHING, though; a master bypass or maybe even track level bypasses would make a lot of sense....

Re: lost inspiration
I have a buddy who draws.
He likes to get something going, some minimal direction from a sketch before he's ready to really jump into something.
It's when he's got that laid down that he likes to get high.
At that point he's got the motivation, the weed just gives him obsessive focus.

Re: MIDI CC
If they're configured to send the signal on the same channel (1-16) you should re-config so they don't share and conflict. I keep a damn spreadsheet to keep track of my controller configs. If you can't reconfig you may have success using each as a track input, rather than remote, and making a M4L de...

Re: Mono And Stereo Recording? witch one and why?
If your track is played in mono, which is bound to happen, you don't want your stereo audio to sound weak due to phase cancelation. Very true. To this end I've MIDI mapped a few Utility devices in a rack on my Master: One to toggle width between 100% and 0% (mono only) and another between 0% and 20...

Re: Mono And Stereo Recording? witch one and why?
Stereo sounds like mono when the L and R channels carry the same signal. Load default Operator and play a note, then crank spread to 100% and listen to the difference. That's mono vs. stereo. Most tracks in my mix are truly mono, at least in terms of input. How many instruments have 2 cables coming ...

Who gives a fuck about a Grammy?
Awards are garbage.
A mere platform for big money product placement (i.e. award-winning "artists").

Re: Layering Sounds?
I know that I can only fit so much amplitude of any frequency at a time in the panorama, and as the density of the mix increases I'll cut less crucial but not unnecessary frequencies in a band on one track to make another higher priority track shine through in that band. Solo the cut instrument and ...

Re: Layering Sounds?
My ears aren't yet amazing with frequency discrimination, so I like to use Spectrum to help me get a sense of what frequencies make up different parts of my sounds' timbres. Then I do some "jigsaw" EQ where you cut/boost the same frequencies in opposing instruments to emphasize one over th...

Re: KMI Softstep 2
I still use my FCB in addition to my 3 SoftSteps (one old, two new "2s"). It DOES take some time learning how it works and how to best configure it to your needs with Live. Don't expect plug-and-play, althuogh there are some basic templates/presets you can play with to get you started. FCB...

Re: Realistic natural sounding midi-guitars & basses in Live?
I'm with everyone else that's steering you back to your real instruments. Just plug a bass or guitar dry into your interface and use some simulators for demo-quality tone. Play too slow, play with bad timing; you can warp that shit right after. Just don't play too many notes or the wrong ones or you...

Re: How Can I Hear When Compression is Needed?
Compressors serve many purposes in my approach. I use them early in a guitar/bass chain to snap up the attack and boost sustain pre-amp/cab sim, and then later to accentuate/limit peaks and sometimes even later for ultimate level control via RMS mode. Spreading the work out over several and at strat...

Re: lost inspiration
I need to have a concept to ground my songs in, I can't really make music out of nothing. Even when I'm fucking around it doesn't take long for me to assign some symbolism or feelings to a sound and the seed starts growing from there. The way I see it the concept is the real content, or currency of ...
