How do you update Push 3 Standalone to v12?
Hey y'all, I have a Push 3 Standalone that I'm trying to upgrade to v12. I see the option on the Push, but when I select it, it tells me to go to http://push.local/update on a computer and upload a .swu file...but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to be getting this from & Ableton hasn't published...

Re: Push 3 - User Wavetables
Just updated to v12 in standalone and sadly this is still not implemented. Its very frustrating, my wavetables are all there available on the device, I just have no way to browse to them from within the Wavetable device when running in standalone. Do you mind sharing info on how you updated your Pu...

Why does Ableton do this?
So I'm currently on Mavericks 10.9.5 with Ableton 9.1.6. My computer is a early 2011 Macbook Pro 13'. I've been interested in upgrading to Yosemite for a while now. Looks nice, probably would run smoother, syncs better with my iPhone 6 (I've been having ANNOYING sync problems with iTunes and my 128G...

WHY DOES ABLETON ALWAYS DO THIS?!
Pardon the explicit language you're about to read in advance. So whenever I try to work on a song with a friend, I collect all and save before sending the project file. I see Ableton taking time to collect the files and everything. So why is it that EVERY FUCKING TIME I try to send a project to some...

Re: Realistic natural sounding midi-guitars & basses in Live?
I personally haven't found anything in Ableton, but I do believe that I've found some packs from random places online that work somewhat decently. Unfortunately, it'll probably be somewhat impossible to find sounds that perfectly replicate guitars and basses, or any instrument for that matter. Howev...

Re: Dynamic Tube-Saturator-Compresor
Is it crazy that I normally use both on my kicks and sometimes my bass? I normally parallel compress my kicks to give it a little more punch and then saturate a little after. I never have either parameter's wet/dry more than like 40%, but I feel like I get better results doing both compared to just ...

I used lynda.com to learn ableton and I thought it was very good. Well organized, to the point, and has exercise files so that you can go along with the instructor which definitely helped.

Is this a bad idea
I've been producing for a little under a year now. My overall focus at the moment is to get better and progress as a producer/musician/artist/whatever. I have a couple tracks that I've worked on and could say are completed if I wanted to, but at the moment, I almost feel like it's more progressive f...

Am I the only one who has this problem with drum racks
For some reason, whenever I drop samples from my browser into a drum rack, I feel like the sound will be "thinned" out and not played correctly. For example, I'll take a kick that has a lot of punch that I find in my browser and drag it into an empty drum rack pad. But when you play it, it...

Wobbly bass?
So I'm working on a track and want to get this wobbly bass effect such as the one in this song http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YN-stfOQtWg Does anyone know how to achieve this? I'm still in the process of learning about oscillators, but I'm guessing that the wobble effect on the bass in the song has to...

Re: Is this possible?
You know you can bounce all tracks in one go, right? I'm aware. My problem is that if I bounce the tracks, I'm probably gonna wanna re-edit them with something in Ableton at some time and hoping back and forth between Logic and Ableton seems unnecessary to me. I wanted to find a way to bypass this ...

Is this possible?
Hello, I use live 9 to produce, but wanted to use logic x for recording vocals and editing/mixing my instruments after I'm done in ableton. Is there a way to do this without having to bounce every instrument track in Live? I've been looking into rewiring, but I haven't been able to find anything tha...

Re: Programming snare rolls?
Hi DavidStars, you can program the roll easily if you use the velocity in the midi editor. If you just program every note on the same velocity it will sound like a machine gun. E.g. start the roll with low velocity and gradually get louder until the end of the roll. Or have everything low except fo...

Re: Uses for Bit Reduction
I agree. Redux can be pretty destructive sonically where it distorts the sound to the point where it isn't even pleasant to listen to. I've used it once in one of my beats where I used light settings on it to add a little bit of distortion to some strings I had. It helped make the strings sound a li...
