I use maschine as a vst plugin within ableton, usually put a kit together I am happy with and start jamming some drum shit.
Once I'm happy with it arm an audio track to re-sample and record each sound back into live as audio.
Make a new audio channel for each sound kick, hats, claps, perc etc and ...

Grouping Tracks or Sending to Audio Channel
Thought I would throw this out there...
Are there any differences and/or benefits people have noticed between simply grouping a load of tracks or setting up new audio track and sending relevant audio to the new audio track?
Guess it's maybe just personal preference ... thoughts?
Cheers, K

Loading Samples from External Hard Drive
I have recently bought a new macbook pro 15" 2.0ghz 8GB and I am starting to think I may have made a mistake and jumped the gun too quickly instead of waiting to have the cash for the 16GB machine with more storage space.
That being said I want to make the most of its performance, I am thinking ...

Boost low end or use MaxxBass
Hey guys, I'm a bit light on low end in this track and I'm just looking for some advice?
Boosting the low end, I was thinking around 90hz or stick a maxxbass on my bass group? Should maybe try both and render to see what the outcome is
Thought I would ask the question here first!

Re: Finishing tracks: Something that helped me
great post, i agree with most things said on this, yes I have tonnes of unfinished tracks because I work on the fun bit creating a cool groove, bassline and what not then when it comes to arrangement and transitions and the boring shit I just sack it and move on!

Re: Ableton Live CPU usage etc...
there are many guides out there that cover prepping a Windows machine for audio production, have you followed any of those?
most likely your computer has background processes running that are causing the glitches.
thanks man had a read of a few articles and managed to solve the problem switching ...

Re: Ableton Live CPU usage etc...
Check your ASIO4ALL buffers. If they're too low, your CPU has to work a lot harder.
What effects do you have running on the tracks? Are they contributing to the CPU load?
Only 3rd party effect I have is 1x PSP vintage warmer on drum bus, the rest are native ableton compressors and eq's etc ...

Re: How often do you use presets?
I probably sample more than I use VSTs at the moment and I don't think anyone should be ashamed or guilty for using samples or presets, I use Omnisphere a lot the sound library on it is enormous and some of the sounds are insanely good!

I am also having issues with this, first of all I have only just starting using my laptop for production as I'm going to be traveling a lot more very shortly.
