Every time you re-encode using a lossy format you lose quality.

Download the mp4 and try the methods in the link. That way you will get a file that is exactly the same quality as in youtube and should drop into iTunes.

I've used this before, but wanted something decent so I designed one of these for my studio (so you can actually read the display while seated)!

I can't find any recent info on how Lite Editions (= bundled with hardware) differ from Intro (= cheapest Live you can buy independently, no discount from one to the other).

According to wikipedia both 720p and 1080p use 192kbit/s aac audio. AFAIK the best option would be to rip the audio without re-encoding it. Sadly i dont know any programs that could do it.

So the short answer is no.
