Re: Using MOTU M2 Interface Loopback in Ableton?
now with this Loopback feature is seems that it lets to record the input to your sound card and the output at the same time into your DAW. this is a new feature I haven't heard of before. Ableton doesn't support it, don't know if it's on their radar either. I've been using loopback with Ableton sin...

Try ASIO4ALL. But yes, an external interface would be better.

Please? Just a small, neat little feature request that wouldn't disturb anything else.

Three minute recording buffer??? How does P.Morris do this?
http://www.emusician.com/artists/1333/hip-hop-producer-pmorris-quick-production-tips/62596 "He also mentions that he uses a 3-minute recording buffer to capture everything he does in Ableton Live so that he can go back and retrieve any “happy accidents” that he may want to use later. Such a rec...

Re: Deleting projects that ive started coz im not feeling them
My advice is not to spend a few hours on anything that you don't believe is a surefire banger. When i sit down to generate ideas, I spend no more than 20 minutes on each one, save, and move on. This is how I avoid the problem of spending hours trying to polish a turd. As a perfectionist, I have the ...

Re: Nerve Drum Machine
Okay so I downloaded the demo and tried it out with a few of my favorite drums from my stash. I was able to get a lot of interesting new texture out of my sounds very quickly. For sound design its the bizness! I might buy it just for that. In fact, if you could make a one cell version with just the ...

Re: Nerve Drum Machine
Nerve is more a tool than a sound library - I thus may have underestimated the importance of showing off the sounds in the demo. Well I'd say that if you consider it a sound design tool, then 20 minutes certainly isn't enough time. In this case I'd say periodic noise is the more preferable approach...

Having issues recording audio clips whilst synced/slaved
Hi All, Hoping to get some feedback here on an annoyance I've been experiencing. Using Live 8.2.1 on a Macbook Core Duo 2.0ghz with 2gb RAM running Leopard 10.5.8. The way I normally work is by using my MPC 1000 (with JJ OS2XL) to chop samples and create 4- or 8-bar loops out of them. Then what I'll...

Re: LInking my MPC 3000 with Ableton
Thank you for pushing me in the right direction. That seemed to work better when I tried it the other day but I seem to remember the samples all being in mono. Arent they just mono samples on there.... Is there a way to have stereo samples in drumtrack? Not sure why or how that would happen... Drum...

Re: Bass/kick relationship
You'll probably have to cut frequencies from both sounds. Try cutting one at 240hz and the other at 360hz (or 160 and 320). Or try a hi pass filter on one or the other. Its gonna vary depending on your exact kick and bass sound choices and sometimes you won't be able to get them to work and you'll n...

Re: LInking my MPC 3000 with Ableton
Just get Maschine and be amazed. No syncing or tracking out headaches. By the way, there is no magical swing or groove that's exclusive to MPCs. Yeah that's helpful... spbeatpoet, try the drumrack, it can do exactly you want. One tip though: change your 3k's pad to MIDI note assignment so that it's...
