Re: M4L devices for Push
The color picker is really cool. I'm wondering if it is possible to do this with drum/instrument racks? Possible without M4L (for Push 2) https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/212079565-New-Features-in-Live-9-7#colors Oh Ya, thanks, I saw that but am looking for my Push 1. So far they have kep...

Re: Time Signature Change in Session
I would do a 1 bar clip with 5/4 timing and then use follow actions to trigger the 4/4 clip after it is finished playing.

Re: Need help with using samples as a midi
If you are using simpler as the instrument it is not too hard. Select clasic mode on the left hand side of the simpler, then turn on warp near the right hand side. Underneath the warp button you can select the warping algorithm. Complex or complex pro sounds best, but uses more cpu.

Re: play, pause, resume midi in arrangement view
I want to put a set together for a concert. I know how to squeeze a few songs together so there is no "dead air space". I know how to make a "stop" clip when I want to pause for a minute to engage the crowd. However, when I hit the play button again, the cursor reverts back to w...

Weird dates on forum posts
I am seeing weird stuff where the post dates are clearly wrong, like discussion on push 2 from 2012, or push 1 from 2005. My computer clock is definitely set right. anyone else getting this?

Re: Drum rack bank change on push 1
You tried putting the 20 kits, each in one drum rack, inside another rack? Or put all kits in one and just slide to new pads with the pitchbend? I think you can put ten sixteen pads kits in there. I don't recognise pads not updating either. Please describe your set up in more detail, or even better...

Drum rack bank change on push 1
Any other finger drummers out there? I am playing with a band and each song has it's own drum rack. I am using the push 1. Is there a good way to change patches lon the fly? I don't love having 20 tracks in a set, but if I chain them and automate the chain selector to clips it doesn't update which p...

Bank change on the drum rack with push 1?
I know there have been many threads related to bank switching is ableton, but I have spent a couple hours reading all I could find and haven't found what I am looking for. I am using the chain selector in an instrument rack to switch between banks of drum racks live. It works well and I can use a cl...

Re: Saving CPU in Windows With Batch Files
So, tip not for advanced users, but I am using an aging laptop with Win XP and Live 8 is maxing out the CPU. So, Windows runs a lot of services that you really don't need when you are making tracks with Ableton. I made a simple 'stop' batch file to stop unneeded services, and then a 'start' batch f...

Re: Changing Patches Live - The Solution
I realize this is an old post but I was searching this the other day and then I realized a great solution to this. I have already put this in effect and it works. Here's what I do: Place an instrument on a midi track. I am using drum racks so I put dummy clips in each slot in the drum rack. Mute the...
