Need help getting started with MPE, Seaboard and Live 11
Hi! I need some help getting started with MPE in Live 11. I have a Seaboard Rise 25 and Equator since a few years back, but since Live 9 and 10 did not support MPE I was mostly using them "stand alone" outside my DAW. Now that Live 11 is here with MPE support I want to finally use my MPE s...

Re: New Thinkpad laptop for the road. Which one?
I am also a long time Thinkpad user, and have gone through a few of them over the last decade, so I can give you some tips from that perspective. First, buying a new Thinkpad in 2019 you will find that they have changed quite a lot in the way they are built, compared to ten years ago: - They are not...

Re: Studio monitors...Yes or No (for me)
I don't quite understand your setup. Are you using Windows? If so, do you have ASIO drivers for your audio interface? If so, you should be able to playback audio from Live and Youtube at the same time, through the same output and speakers. In conclusion: If you don't have a proper, ASIO capable audi...

Re: Tr-8 with Ableton
As far as I can tell, this is not possible due to limitations in the midi implementation of the TR-8. It is possible to change drum kit through midi using program change messages, but no way to select patterns over midi. This is a shame. Others are also requesting this feature: http://forums.rolandc...

Re: A sick PC for CPU heavy serum bangers
Also does anyone have any tips for making a computer as quiet as possible? Case, fan rpm etc In my experience, the following is most important for making a PC quiet: 1. Use a case with good soundproofing while also having enough interior volume and airflow to allow for decent cooling. Avoid cases w...

Re: Korg M1 not showing in Ableton Live
To continue on the 32/64 bit issue: Which version of Live are you using, 32 bit or 64 bit? When you install the vst files to the Live vst folder, are you installing the correct version there? Plugins typically come with two separate sets of dll files for 32 bit and 64 bit respectively. As for the lo...

Re: In-Ear headphones?
I can also testify that Shure in-ears have good bass response. I just did a comparison test with a pure sine wave at 16 Hz (C -1) through my SE535's and AKG K712's, and I could hear it better in the in-ears. The big, open AKG's obviously sound much nicer and are more accurate for mixing, though. For...

Re: Roland VDrum recording
If you want to record with lower velocity values, the only way to achieve that is to lower the sensitivity even more on your drum module. If Live is recording velocity value 127 it means that your drum module sent a midi message with the velocity value 127. Since this is really a V-drums issue, perh...

Re: Audeze LCD-X - Audio Interface Vs Headphone Amp
I would say a headphone amp is a waste of money with the LCD-X, since they are highly efficient headphones made specifically to work well even with portable gear such as iphones without a headphone amp. So a decent audio interface should not have any trouble driving them. Their sibling, the LCD-3, i...

Re: sound card?
Hi, I'd like to ask for some information also. I use the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI card for ages, zero complaints about it. I currently run it on a more or less up to date computer with 64 samples latency. May I know the current situation about the latency issues with inexpensive USB audio interf...

Re: Ableton Live 9 NOT Working On Windows 10
In what way is it not working? Refusing to load? Crashes or bugs? No sound output? I myself is running the Live 9.2 beta in Windows 10 without any problems. I set this up specifically because I wanted to test both Windows 10 and the upcoming Live 9.2, so I used a separate hard drive (my computer has...

Re: Paid Ableton and Cracked Plugins?
Lots of people use cracked plugins at some time of another. I downloaded Massive and Sylenth, but I paid for both after I determined I wanted to keep them. I downloaded Live 8 when I wanted to try it out, but I purchased it after I fell in love with it. If you download software or samples that you ...

Re: I wish i could do a monthly subscription to Ableton.....
Sometimes I want to try out another DAW, and it would be possible if they would all be accessible through a monthly fee. Most likely this would lead to more/faster improvements of the software. So yes for me. Aren't all DAWs available as trial versions? If Live became a subscription only product I ...

Re: Live 9 not waking up
What type of computer and operating system are you using? Which power options are you using in the OS (high performance, balanced, etcetera)? How does the OS and other applications behave when Live is "not waking up"?
