Re: RE: Earlier discussion about use of Hi-Q mode affecting gain

1.04 dB is a lot, but the question is, how exactly looks the resampled file? is it a single transient that pops out for one or two samples, is it a low frequency part that shots over for a longer period of time? I would be curious to see the waveform of the portion that peaks and compare it with the...

Re: Grooves and delays

No, you are right. Re-recording and applying groove afterwards should work. I never tried it, I am allergic against warping ... Will check it out later...

Re: Grooves and delays

There is a systematic problem with delays and grooves in general: The groove is created by slightly shifting parts of a beat away from a straight quantization, and you do this differently for different parts of a bar. Re: Using diff sample rates in same project... not a good idea?

@ SubFunk: The SRC is always running. Without SRC you cannot even pitch a sample with warp off! Or it will sound like in Sampler with interpolation set to "none" - try it and you will understand that the SRC is quite essential :-) The SRC only is "transparent" when it does not ne...

Re: Using diff sample rates in same project... not a good idea?

i guess my main point with all those discussions is that quite binary notion of good distortion versus bad distortion. SRC is bad distortion. Tube amp is good distortion. My snare is broken. It rattles.

Re: Using diff sample rates in same project... not a good idea?

If the file is not warped, not transposed, and has the same sample rate as the soundcard, the SRC is bypassed, and every sample from the file is carried from the file to the track by crafted micro slaves without alteration. If the SRC is a bad idea or not depends on your point of view: If you can he...

Re: problem unmounting external hdd because of an ableton file

Is an audio track armed ? (the armed track keeps the tmp-0000 file open for recording into it, it will be renamed at the end of the recording process or deleted when disarming)

Re: Is it reasonable to use Live as a plugin host for mastering?

What is your source material? What is the desired final medium you are mastering for? The sound quality of the engine is not a criteria, simply all modern DAWs out here are fine in this regard. However, there are some things to consider, when attempting to use Live for mastering purposes: Lives engi...
