Re: Math Coding for M4L
Note: While I am new to C++, Max and Javascript, I am an extremely proficient SAS Programmer. I would use SAS, if it were not $15k per person per year :s. Now trying to backpedal and learn more common languages.

Math Coding for M4L
I am just beginning my journey towards developing VSTs for Ableton. Many, if not most of my ideas rely heavily on relatively complex mathematics. I know that many VSTs are programmed in C++ and that is where I had planned to start. M4L has a large number of canned elements that would be most helpful...

Re: How can I trick out timing?
Thanks! By default, mine is set to 'none'. My system is not cooperating with me at the moment. Let me see if I understand. If I select 'none' on a given clip or all of the clips in a track, then they 'should' launch from the beginning every time, but if I select 'global', then it will launch in a co...

How can I trick out timing?
In an earlier post, I had complained that my samples were not starting from the beginning when launched but seemed to be synchronized with some type of 'internal clock'. For example, when bringing in the first instance of a 2 bar drum loop that has rhythmic variability, it would often start on the b...

Isotonik Follow stopped working
I just purchased a new M4L Device from Isotonik Studios called 'Follow'. Simply great device and I had it working perfectly last night, but all of the sudden, it stopped responding to the mouse. I have taken every step I can think of to resolve: A) Replace MIDI Clip, B) Replace MIDI Track, C) Downlo...

Re: 32 Bit Hell
Thanks Sara! I was looking at J-Bridge too. A lot going on today, ... can't keep up ;). I have not actually gotten the biggest VSTs yet -- they are on order and due to arrive in a few days, but I am soooo into vocals right now and my current VSTs stink, so I really want to hit the ground running wit...

Re: 32 Bit Hell
Thanks, site, that sounds like exactly what I need, ... do you know of a good VST Bridge? I have found a few on the web, but I really, really need performance. Otherwise, I can just stick with the 32 Bit platform for the sake of simplicity. The 32 Bit only VSTs I have are large, resource hungry Voca...

32 Bit Hell
I had had all of my VSTs running in 64 Bit and was running 64 Bit Ableton and my computer was crashing with 8 GB of RAM, so I increased it to 16 GB of RAM and then everything was good. Since then, I have purchased new VSTs that were supposed to have 64 Bit versions, but I have only been able to get ...

Voice effects on the cheap
I am trying to find cost effective ways of achieving high quality voice effects. Basically, I would like to work with vocal tracks at this point. I would like to find a high-powered vocoding solution and the ability to add high quality effects, like stutter effects and more. I own Izotope StutterEdi...

High-Res for LARGE Monitors
I am fairly blind and relatively new to Music Production, so I have taken my 42 inch, 1080p TV and swapped that into my DAW as my main monitor (I have two 20 inch, 1080p monitors in addition to the 42 inch TV). I did this so that I could zoom Ableton out and maximize the amount of 'information' that...

Re: Timing Issues
Thanks, Da Hand. I have a moderately large Set and had toyed with Legato (trying tho see what it did), on a few clips. I went through track by track, selected all clips in said track and then looked at the clip view for the combined group of clips. If all were Legato, then the button was solid yello...

Re: Timing Issues
Thank you, Da Hand. I have studied this and still seem to be missing something. When I look at the top left of the clip section (just to right of piano roll), I see two arrows. with the bottom being labelled as the 'clip start' and the upper labelled as the 'loop start'. I have both set at the begin...
