How to set global quantize for everything?
I'm going through a lot of clips and noticed that for whatever reason many have 'none' set to quantization. Using Live from a performance perspective I keep everything set to 'Global' and 1 Bar. It's a big pain to have to keep looking at every track, changing the quantize then saving. In Preferences...

Re: Where can I turn on 'timeline' in session view?
Yes, I completely agree that it is a step backwards. However, you will have to come to terms with the fact that this option is gone. For what you are using the timeline for, the solution is to start counting in measures instead of time. I DJ with Ableton Live as well and I am constantly juggling mi...

Re: Where can I turn on 'timeline' in session view?
Thanks guys, I'm actually upgrading from Live 6, this is a huge change in the way I use Live for 'live' sessions. Can't believe they took it out...doesn't make any sense to have a DAW that provides no time information like this. This is such a huge impact on how I use Live, this sucks...now I have ...

Re: Where can I turn on 'timeline' in session view?
I'm not sure what it's called which is perhaps why I couldn't find it in the instructions. But I recently upgraded to Live 9, and at the bottom of my previous version session view there was a timeline when I open a clip. I don't know what else to call it, as you see the waveform, and at the top are...

Bring back timeline for warped clips.
I just upgraded from Live 6 to 9, and the timeline for warped clips is no longer available. This is a huge impact on my live workflow. Using Live to play live, you need a timeline, this was critical in inserting anything on the fly. Now it's all guessing and I can no longer plug in clips/tracks to h...

Re: Where can I turn on 'timeline' in session view?
Are you using Live 9? If your clip is warped, and you're playing live, meaning you cannot change it from warped to unwarped otherwise your listener will hear that warped/unwarped...how is it displaying for you?
thanks
thanks

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
My bad for getting worked up over it. Conclusions are being made and I'm getting flamed for something I didn't type, humility goes out the window when being insulted for asking simple questions. I haven't looked into an external interface for a long time because there was no need, my current ...

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
Sorry I just cant believe you've bought a Xone 3d without knowing about USB cables, external sound cards and the drivers that they use to intact with Live, rj45 cables have no place in a club, headphones jack are the absolute worst sound card to use......I couldn't help myself but laugh at your que...

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
Just use your headphone jack Don't read about USB sound cards your obviously to rich to bother Maybe you need to read what people type and stop spewing your pretentious attitude at me. If you have nothing to contribute then bugger off. I asked how to do something, not get your insults about an educ...

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
Hey guys, I really don't think you're taking the time to read my OP, and so you're kind of just not offering any help. :( "However, using my mixer outside of home isn't practical, so how exactly do I use multiple channels on a club mixer?" and "It doesn't need to be RME, I used that a...

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
I should clarify a bit more. It doesn't need to be RME, I used that as an example, truthfully, I don't know what I can use to interface my Macbook loaded with Ableton to play on any mixer I may come across. I know I need some kind of interface device, and I would like to be able to use multiple chan...

Re: Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
I mentioned that moving my mixer around is not always practical, so having a slimmed down capability is important. If I use the RME, I'm just not clear on how this works with Abelton. If I output from Ableton into RME using the headphone jack, am I then plugging in the 1/4" output of RME to RCA...

Ableton + external interface + club mixer- cabling question
I think this is a simple enough question, but couldn't find an answer. If I want to use Live at a club for instance, I understand I need an external device such as an RME Fireface or MOTU product, what I don't understand is the cabling portion. For instance, at home I have a Xone 3d, and everything ...
