Solo Effect shortcut and menu
I mocked up something I feel would be very helpful in any chain... the ability to solo an effect from the others before or after. If you want to solo multiple effects it would be the exact same thing. Crazy useful for toggling something specific or diagnosing some issue in a chain. Toggling on and o...

Re: Ableton should communicate with its users
Ableton has not adapted with the times. It's not 2006 anymore, where no communication with developers is normal. Other developers, even larger ones in this industry create a relationship with the community and engage to make their products even better. Ableton isn't Art. It's not a painting- where f...

At Abletons pace, it should be here around Live 14.jonljacobi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 5:08 pmNot arguing against, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. But Ableton has surprised me before.

Re: New Feature: a professional tool
It’s been stated many times. The forum is observed, but the devs don’t participate. They’re constantly fixing bugs so I would guess that they’re interested in stability. If they were interested in stability, they’d have responded with transparency on the topic years ago when it was suggested on the...

Re: New Feature: a professional tool
I think what’s more concerning here is that the Devs have let a 2 page thread of people discussing the deep instability of Live without acknowledgment. The first comment was a forum admin which may or may not even be a dev. Regardless, the issue stands true in that even on a brand new M1 Max machine...

Hotswapping samples (global or per track)
As it stands, working in audio has some limitations when it comes to replacing samples. Here's a classic scenario to first understand what I'm referring to. I work mostly in audio, drums included. When you've laid out a full project of samples with kicks, snares, percs and fx, you've sort of locked ...

Re: plugin doesn't show up I've tried everything
If a plug-in doesn’t show up along side your other ones it only means one of two things. The plug-in is 32 bit and will never work on the newer versions of Live, or the plug-in is 64bit and not updated from the developers to support Catalina/Big Sur. Absolutely nothing you can do as a end user to ma...

Re: Anyone try big Sur yet? Live won't open for me.
So Ableton hasn't released that they've support Big Sur yet... all that means is, Rosetta2 is trying to covert the application using default methods, but they've 'supposedly' made it easy for developers to use their transition software to make it work more smoothly. So right now it'll just be broken...

Catalina & Live 10
I'm looking at the damage Catalina can have on Live 10. Read a lot on how the notarization of apps/plugins is why everything is breaking. Reading this article however, https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/notarizing_macos_software_before_distribution/customizing_the_notarization_workflow ...

Loads of VST's broken after 10.1.1
Running 10.1.1 Live on a 2018 MBP i7. Every version before 10.1.1 has worked fine. Upgrade to 10.1.4 broke a lot of VST's like Melodyne, D16, Kontakt, FM8... etc. Went and tried 10.1.9 and the same issue appears with "The VST2 plug-in is damaged and can't be opened". All or most of these V...
