Re: Warping help needed...
This has given me a thought: can I use the warp markers I've created on the original track to apply the same tempo changes to my own track once complete? That would be an awesome function! I'm not entirely sure this is what you're looking for, but look into the Extract Groove feature. I haven't pla...

Re: Warping help needed...
Ok, I think I've sorted it... I was having difficulty lining up the FIRST warp marker as the song starts on the 4th beat, whilst I wanted it to launch from beat 1 (i.e. giving a 3 second rest before the original track plays within the arrangement). I got around it by loading the track into the arran...

Warping help needed...
I use Live exclusively for multi-tracking, rather than looping and mashing etc. I'm about to embark on a project to create a note-for-note cover of Gary Moore's 'If You Be My Baby': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnPxL8NHKxg What I'd like to do is load up the original into track 1 in Live, and use t...

Re: Warping a track that doesn't start on the first beat...
Thanks for your response! I had just discovered the same advice at this Youtube video, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu4bZ00BodI&feature=fvw I hadn't considered moving the 1:1:1 marker to somewhere beyond the actual start of the song... I'm setting up the original version of Fleetwood Mac'...

Warping a track that doesn't start on the first beat...
As per the thread title, I need to warp a track that doesn't start on beat 1; I'm having difficulty setting the start marker and subsequent warp markers. Is there a specififc, simple technique to achieve this, please?

Re: How to play Impulse with a padKontrol?
pK comes with the manual. Read it. It offers great tips about other features that pK has to offer, that will blow your mind. Eh... not quite so helpful! I've only had the padKontrol for a week, and whilst I am finding my way around, sometimes it's ok to ask for help, I think! That's a week you've h...

Re: How to play Impulse with a padKontrol?
I'm going to guess that the pads you are using are the lower note numbers. Impluse pads begin around note 60 and the default C1 pad on the pad kontrol is number 36. An easy way to find the first impluse pad on the pad kontrol is to edit one pad, keep turning the pad kontrol knob until you hit the f...

Re: How to play Impulse with a padKontrol?
I should have added more information; I can play other instruments with the padKontrol; the track is armed for recording and monitor set to either Auto or In.

How to play Impulse with a padKontrol?
The Korg padKontrol works great as a Drum Rack controller using the factory scene 1 loaded; however I can't find any scenes which trigger Impulse... what am I doing wrong?
I have tried loading the padKontrol's Live preset scene but it doesn't work, either.

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
This is a really interesting thread, and I'm dying to try it out. However, I'm not that confident with the electronics side of things, although general hardware and construction I can hold my own (I built a nice foosball table a few years back). With that in mind, how about this for an alternative ...

Elegant solution!
I'm only just starting to use racks... they make things a LOT simpler.

Multiple instrument control using MPK49?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a used Akai MPK49 (keyboard/drum pads/knobs and faders etc), but first I need to be sure that it gives me at least the same functionality as my current MIDI keyboard, i.e: With my existing EMU XBoard49 and Ableton, I can set each MIDI track to take input from a speci...

Watching a couple of well-specced controllers on eBay, so I'm holding back on a decision for now.
But thanks for all the input so far!
