You want to set your global launch quantize to the same as your fixed length It isn't perfect but at least all your loops will start from 0
from the drop down on the right in the picture

If you log into your account on the ableton site and go to packs you should find several packs that you need to download (it varys depending which version of live you own) that is where the other sounds are

change the release setting in the drum racks simpler by default it is set to 60 seconds so will play all of most samples, that should sort it for you

Ted, I see your point and it would be nice but I guess from their perpective they already told us they are still working on it and maybe they feel thats all we need to know right now .

Another good point Tom the aftertouch is terrible (well not terrible but insanely easy to trigger), I wish I could turn it off, its almost impossible for me to not trigger it (without switching to PXT that is)

The problem with stuff like this ted is they say "ok we are working on stuff" and leave it at that and people get mad, but on the other hand they say "Oh yeah we will have this feature by this date" then they cant make the date and people get mad, they cant win.

Love mine, disagree with the comment about PXT being needed to make it good with live but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe a guitar style footswitch would work? I dunno just an idea, guitar style footswitches tend to be latching on/off jobs maybe it would work better than a sus pedal.

I have both and I may be wrong but I see no reason you would want general without another daw and already having PXT-Live and plus.
