Why does the retrig button make the sound super fat?

Hey guys, so I made a sub in massive but for some reason whenever I stop the track the sub keeps going. Anyone know why that might be going on?

how much do you guys roll of your synths? i've heard from 200-500hz for the high end and 100-150 for mids/lows.

where should the auto filter be placed in the chain of effects, and if there are multiple places it can go what are the benefits of each?

When making room for the bass in the kick, cutting where the kick hits in the bass and boosting at that same spot on the kick and vise versa, how much would you recommend cutting and boosting in dbs? I understand that there's no right answer I'm just looking for some general guidelines.

It actually really depends on the song in question. I may use the same kick for a few songs and each one will be EQed differently depending on what else is happening in the song and how I want to the kick to sound in relation to all my other elements.
