Exoplanetary music

Two years ago I made this contribution to the fantastic disquiet junto collaboration project : https://soundcloud.com/paulchristophrose/disquiet0272-exoplanetary-intervalls This is music made from the stars. I took the intervals from these 7 planets that were discovered the other day, and used them ...

Re: Call for Max device: Musinum

interesting. Did you see the image of the original program UI? https://reglos.de/musinum/musinum2.gif There is a setting for "speed" - which lets you select the note length. Have you been able to run the program on a computer? Also, see this part of his description "Beside playing this basic sequenc...

Call for Max device: Musinum

About 25 years ago I ran into this mathematician who told me a lot of super interesting stuff about sound and music. His name was Lars Kindermann, and one of his inventions was a litttle windows program called Musinum that made fractal melodies that played on your windows pc. I experimented quite a ...

Re: USB C to Firewire connection for Ultralite

Thank god, finally it worked!

I had to enable the motu drivers in some security setting in the system preferences. Now it´s running fine. No need for a new soundcard.

Re: Best way to slice up an entire song

is the audiofile warped correctly? Does it play along to the click or to other loops correctly, in time? If not, learn about warping first. If yes, I would drop the file into arrangement view, cut it into sections. Then select them all and drop them into session view. Then select all and consolidate...

USB C to Firewire connection for Ultralite

Hi, I have a new laptop, a macbook pro (15 inch 2017) that has only the new USB C (thunderbolt) connectors. I also own the old FW Ultralite, original model from years ago. The one that connects only via Firewire. I bought a TB3 to TB2 adaptor, and connected it to a TB2 to FW adaptor, and this one to...

Re: How to display pictures (photos, etc)

You can drop .jpg files on the timeline in arrange-view in Live and they will appear as clips. you can make them as long as you like. Live has a extra window that displays video or images. Or you use some kind of vj-software and use it as aa slave with live. Then you can go facny with effects on the...

Re: looper pedal with ableton link?

hm, maybe I need to talk with someone at boss or tc electronic. Would be so great to have an independent stompboxlooper that synchronizes via link to ableton.

Many thanks - I will try that. I was always under the impression that this is only a video port, but yes, this is a thunderbolt thingy. Hooray.

Soundcard recommandation -usb, low latency, good for liveset

Hi abletonians. long time no see. I need a recommendation. I am a long time user of a motu firewire soundcard, I think I bought it 10 years ago or so. But since some time I use a new macbook air, much faster and mor reliable than my 4 year old macbook pro. But - no firewire. Next month I will play t...
