Alchemy I bought this year, but I can't call it my best purchase. It comes a very close second to my RME Multiface 2. Worth every penny.

Terratec made pretty solid PCI cards, but I had one of their firewire products and it worked sporadically.

Don't go USB, would be my recommendation, consider an Expresscard-based solution. Echo Indigo IOx, or if you need more connectivity, something by RME.

A slight aside: Use a 40GB SSD like the Kingston SSDNow and bring your boot times down to about 30secs to desktop. Mac Pro? Whussat? :D Seriously Win7 is the very best Windows MS have put out.
