Re: Notation in Live 9?
Hi folks,
The request for notation is definitely known and on our list of considerations.
Best,
Dennis, for what it's worth, I WOULD like to see notation in Live...
...but with certain limits. It should be visible in the same place as the MIDI editor, of course, but only one stave at a time ...

Re: A minimalist approach to songwriting in Ableton
good article but eh..
i write songs by exploring sounddesign, so i DO spend lots of time looking for a sample (or rather, looking for textures in a sample).
many many procuder i know have their "songwriting time" like this aswell.
depends on what music you do. but good article nonetheless and some ...

Obsessing this much over a drum sound is one of the reasons so much electronic music sucks nowadays. Too much emphasis on production, not enough on composition.

Opals are nice but pricey. A7s are the minimum I would want to work with. But consider trying Focal CMS65s for a.. "next step up".

surge protector used at all? anything else damaged by the same surge?
yes I use a surge protector.. and nothing else was damaged...
the thing is it loads but says I need to format in order to use...
will try that and maybe use 'recuva' after..see what I can salvage..
I hope I'm not too ...

*Passes 3Phase his new elitist cap*
They both produce thoroughly boring minimal music, Villalobos seems a tiny bit more able to write grooves. But why do they need to go on for 10-20-30 minutes?
Oh yes, I just remembered you're a troll. Leave the grown-ups to discuss the important things.

Re: minimal; the new excuse for boring tracks?
Yes, I agree. And that includes Deadmau5 and Villalobos.
I don't care if these guys have production skills, that means fuck all if they can't write a good melody. Could they match house beats to an infectious piano riff?
The naughties were all about the conversion of dance music as DJ tools ...

Re: Sequencing an album in Arrangement View
Any ideas how this could be done?
There's also the "hard" way of doing it, by making a Cuesheet .
You can then run off as many burns as you like with something like ImgBurn .
Don't forget to turn off warp and fade for every clip... I'm sure you have, but it's always worth checking if these are ...
