Pretty sure he did it with sampler by dragging audio slices from session view into different zones in the sampler. I tried it this way after watching the video and it worked. Of course, I think he's using 7 and now one could just divide an audio sample up in session view and slice to new midi. Think...

I get similar things when I have a midi-channel routing back to the Launchpad as described, no matter what channel I use. Buttons blink in manifold colours both on user1 and session view, which only stop when I switch to another mode (and back again). Happens once I hit a key on another MIDI device...
