Darn. I guess I will just do that with the favorites. I know all the plug in names when I'm looking but keep drawing blanks on the developer when I am in the 'flow'. I thought I would just adjust but it's not happening. Thanks.

I was able to have all of my VST2 plugs show in alphabetical order without being separated by their brands but I can't recall how I did it and would like to do this with my VST 3's. How can I remove the plug ins from these folders?

Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it. I'm training myself to hit save before messing with the comp. Even just making it optional would at least eliminate those tracks where I have no intention of comping and am just trying to perfect something or noodle with ideas.

Follow up related question. Is there a way to delete unused takes that I am missing? They don't show as unused files in "manage files" either midi or audio. This can REALLY pile up to hundreds and hundreds of unused files in a project!

Is there any reason why deleting takes in from a comp keeps crashing Ableton? It happens while editing comps after a minute or so. No plugins being used an only a few vocal tracks, one guide audio track, thats it.

I did another test using only audio, Ableton automation, and then copied multiple tracks. With both computers working direct from desktop side by side, best buffer setting for each, my 2017 iMac i7 outperformed the new Mac Studio M2 by about 20% on the CPU, with much larger spikes showing on the M2....

Thanks, yes I adjust the buffer as needed and haven't run out of RAM. It was purely CPU spikes at the optimal buffer. I am not sure if the 5950X would compare more to the M2 Max or M2 Ultra.
