Re: Hiding all automation lanes in arrangement?
Hmmm... what Monkeytrix was asking for is already here since forever... Just need to select the "show automated parameters only" in any track's automation chooser. That's different than having a shortcut that can take care all of the lanes simultaneously, which I assume the other u...

Audio Unit shows up in Ableton but not in plugins folder
Hi, I'm using a Mac and when Ableton scans for plugins, they all show up except for one in particular which is an audio unit. I've tried everything, turning off the folder in preferences, re-scanning, switching it to a different folder then back to what it was originally set at, even deleting all th...

Re: Project cannot be opened (external hard drive error)
your big mistake was that you opened the project from inside a Time Machine backup, which is a bad idea. Yeah, hence the "I did something dumb" in my first post. Of course it's not a smart thing to do and I figured that it would create problems, and now I really know. Hopefully this threa...

Re: Project cannot be opened (external hard drive error)
Ok, I figured it out. In case this happens to anyone else (I can only speak for Mac users): Force Eject your external HDD while the project is still open. Hit "Save As" and save to the project files folder on your computer. Start freezing each track and then double-check the project folder...

Re: Project cannot be opened (external hard drive error)
I couldnt see the screenshot but did you try "collect and save"? Yeah, I definitely did, Same error :( Like I said, only “save a copy” works but it didn’t create a samples folder. Is there a way to change the permissions somehow and sync my external file to my computer project as one? Or ...

Project cannot be opened (external hard drive error)
So, I did a dumb thing  I just bought a new computer and it's been tedious transferring every single file for re-organization. I wanted to use part of an old composition that was stored on my external hard drive, so I was lazy and opened it from there and made a new project from it rather t...

Re: How to create a heavy pulsing sub bass?
I can't tell if it's an LFO or if the notes are just repeated individually. But I've tried and it doesn't sound quite right, and definitely doesn't have enough power behind it. This sound is usually in the background of a track, giving it a calm feeling (to me at least). Example: https://soundcloud...

Re: Status Bar's mode chooser not appearing
Found it. You enable Midi mode and press the user function twice I believe.

Re: Help with Operator automation
Figured it out. There was a tiny bit of space right in front of the duplicated copy. I nudged it over very very slightly and now it sounds how it should.

Re: Help with Operator automation
"Locking" the automation with the lock button in Arrangement view does the opposite to what one would normally expect from something that is locked in place. When you copy, move, duplicate, etc... your clips with the lock "on", in Live it means the automation envelopes stay &quo...

Re: Help with Operator automation
OK. I've narrowed it down to the Arpeggiator being the culprit.

Help with Operator automation
Sometimes I think Ableton's trying to get me sent straight to the loony bin. I have a video-gamish synth sound that I made from Operator and made chords out of and to make it a little more interesting, I automated Octave and Semi knobs. I also threw in Arpeggiator. Anyway, whenever I lock automation...
