Mystery Latency
I'm recording DI guitar at 44.1 into ableton 10 standard via a Roland Octa-Capture with a high-z input. Ableton's buffer is set to 128 and reading out 11ms latency. I'm hearing boatloads of latency. In fact, even with input monitoring set to OFF and delay compensation and reduce latency when monitor...

Where to store tracks, temp folder with dual-drive setup
Hello, I've recently switched from a single to a dual-drive setup via Ableton's advice for a multi-drive setup, in which they suggest two external drives -- one for packs and sound libraries, and the other for the temp folder, live projects, and cache. Their reasoning is to avoid the 'traffic jam' t...

Matching recorded return track audio with original
I'm in the final stages of a mix and my CPU is maxing out. I have two return tracks with a lot of processing, so I've recorded them to new tracks. The problem, however, is that these new recorded tracks are out of synch with the original return tracks. This is problematic because I've fine tuned the...

Reduce Mono Level Only
Hello, this seems like it should be very simple, but atm I'm not sure what the answer is.
How can I reduce the mono part of a stereo signal while leaving the stereo information as it is?
Please, help remove my ignorance.

'A Memory' [A major evolution in my sound]
http://smarturl.it/amemory On this production I was able to experience my skills "level up" and "come together" on a higher level. Really pleased with the production as a whole. I was able to humanize many aspects; hand-played many MIDI parts (with judicious quantization), perfor...

Audio does not match clip position in arrangement
After moving my entire arrangement forward by 4 bars, the vocal track is still audible as if it were in it's original position and had not been moved at all. I have also tried deactivating the vocal clip, and it has no effect on the audio - it just keeps playing. I am not using session view. What's ...

Re: dragon boy jig | nice-olation | feedback returned
I dig it. No idea who kali uchis is. Nice melody. I dig everything that's going on arrangement and sound design-wise. Two things that come to mind that might sound cool would be some mix bus compression used in a way to get things moving and grooving together a 'lil more, and using a reverb send to ...

Big-Ups! — A dense & dynamic mix
This one's been kicking around for a while now, I think I started it a few years back. I've applied some new mixing techniques, and the vocals were tracked through some nice gear I gained access to (Daking pre, and AT4050 mic). I am pretty into the mix! I think it balances nicely, especially in the ...

A new Sketch — I'm very proud of this mix.
A sick jam with my father Edwin on the keys, Marty (who normally plays wind instruments) on the wavedrum, and yours truly on guitar and production. Ran the whole mix through a UA 2-610 real crunchy for some parallel compression and I am effing hyped about that. https://soundcloud.com/xxukcxx/sketch-...

My latest production, 'Sketch #3 - Hedonistic Treadmill'
My latest production, 'Sketch #3 - Hedonistic Treadmill' It's built around the guitar line, which was recorded on an iphone. I think I succeeded in communicating a feeling with an interesting groove. The least successful element imo would be how the kick drum does not cut through the mix on lower qu...

My latest track (2 years in the making) - #28
This track was originally called '#26' but it took a couple years to finish it. I learned how to work through many obstacles such as doubt, confusion, and procrastination. Quite proud of the result.
