Re: Think I'm going Mac, is (Feb 2011) 13" MacBook Pro i7 good?
Thank you all for replies. The MBP 13" i7 (yes, dual core, but as I understand it that Live doesn't take advantage of the four cores like other programs??) will be here tomorrow! Either way good or great, this experience likely will not be as hassle-filled as me trying to run Ableton on a Vista...

You really seriously plan to work on a 13inch screen? Im on a 30inch 2560 x 1600 and I feel it's still not enough. As for the hardware, the macbook use the HD 3000 gpu. That mean there is virtually no difference between this and the mac mini as both will use turboboost to reach higher than 3ghz whi...

Think I'm going Mac, is (Feb 2011) 13" MacBook Pro i7 good?
I've been a cheapskate for years, but now I'm about to become a big boy (fan boy?) and belly up to Steve Jobs' bar. What I'd like to know is whether the 13" MBP i7 (released early 2011) will be able to do ableton Live 8? Being a cheapskate, I guess I'd like to save some 500 bucks (the next opti...

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
Hey there, listened to your sit back track, and there is a big glitch at 1:27 with the appreg synth (the drums continue normally)... was that intentional? It was kinda intentional.. It was a beat repeat that didn't quite go over as planned I think it got latched on and I didn't hit it fast enough t...

Re: 64-bit version?
PLEASE... YES! My partner in futility (trying to keep up with hardware/software issues) and I just bought what we thought was a sweet deal for a dual core AMD with 6 gigs of memory etc. While we did know that Ableton does not yet support Vista 64-bit, we didn't think it would be such a clicky, glitc...

Well... I am no expert (just listen to the shite on our myspace!... but to be honest, I haven't posted any new stuff there in almost a year -- I have done some evolving ;-) ) Currently, we use only the onboard compression in Ableton, and it serves us very well. Poke around the audio effects for spec...

I don't understand why Ableton would, in essence, penalize already-faithful customers who already have paid to upgrade (I have twice, already) by giving it away to newcomers? If I am not mistaken, it was about this time last year that I upgraded to Live 6 (just before 7 came out) and I ended up havi...

Free Operator?
I just read that people who upgrade to Live 7 will get a free copy of Operator and the new Live packs -- does this apply to us who already have Live 7?
Sorry if this was covered elsewhere.
