Re: WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
Allright I've had it! why was this removed! why take away the AMAZING ability (that live 9 had) to preview one shots QUANTIZED and in context of the tempo of your song? Why not at least give us the option, EXPECIALLY since we've had this for a decade prior to 10 with all preceding versions of live! ...

Re: I would like to know if this will ever be adressed
As the Cableways FAQ says, Live 9.5 improved (quite a lot) on PDC. FYI it's not a Live only problem, PDC is a headache for every DAW. All of them deal with it differently and thus make compromises at some point. I'm not sure there's one DAW that provides perfect PDC (correct me if I'm wrong). The r...

I would like to know if this will ever be adressed
from the Cableguys website FAQ : " Q: effects are sometimes slightly out of sync in Ableton Live, as if latency is not being compensated for by PDC. What can I do about this? A: effects work perfectly in Ableton Live when they're the only plugin on a track, but they can suffer from latency in o...

why was this removed since 10?
From Live's help files about the audio browser : "Short samples in Live 10 Clips shorter than 2.5 seconds will always play back un-synced, even if transport is running." Previewing short samples synced (up until 9.7.7) made previewing one shot drums super intuitive and kept the momentum of...

Re: WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
you could preview snares/clap/kicks and play them quantized (according to the selected quantize definition of the browser) by pressing the right arrow key on your computer keyboard, in realtime, in context of your song. Well I'll be blown! I didn't know you could do that?! I'm still on 9 so great! ...

Re: WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
you already COULD have this messy playback of short samples by just bypassing the quantizing of the browser! I actually didn't know long samples were quantized in the preview. I agree it should be an option whether short samples are not. How do you bypass this quantizing in Live 9? Is there some be...

Re: WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
I'm talking about quantized previewing of one shots (one shot drum samples for example, or any short audio file) Quantized to the bar's 1.1.1? If you mean repeated playback this doesn't occur for me in Live 9. It must be a setting. OK, verified that in Live 9 you need to use either " Warped Lo...

Re: WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
Quantized? Do you mean tempo adjustment? This is present in Live 10. You choose "Raw" to avoid it. If we could quantize clips already in the browser, then I missed that feature. nah I'm talking about quantized previewing of one shots (one shot drum samples for example, or any short audio ...

WHY take away the quantized previewing of short audio files?
in Live 10??
one of the most usable feature of the browser? this is havig too much of an impact on work flow! you were able to select "NONE" as a
time signature to just preview any file without any quantization, so WHY take the funcion away?
why not make it an option?

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
The Beta had those issues, multiple reports -
Unrelated to Windows 10
Also in reasonably sized projects, try and do clip slip-editing, pretty slugish!
Just hope it will get fixed in an upcoming update

Re: Under-the-hood optimizations in Live 10?
Well I'll answer my own question since I've been playing around with 10 for an hour with a 9-created project
Slightly worse!
Slighlty more crackles
Slightly more CPU load, about 7% for this heavy project I'm playing around with
So there we have it
No optimization in that department so far.

Re: Under-the-hood optimizations in Live 10?
I'm more conerned about the behaviour of the engine
example : a heavy session exhibiting audible crackels because of cpu load (I mean lives crackels, even with the cpu hovering at 69%...)
same session loaded in Live 10... same crackles?

Under-the-hood optimizations in Live 10?
9 crackes under a certain amount of stress/load when sessions get
heavy, it just does.
Has anyone noticed any improvement with 10 in that department?
