Re: Sending Track Through Two Busses?

Yes sir! You can pretty much send audio signals wherever you want. The challenge is you have everything bussed together right from the get go. Multiple ways you can do this. For example, you can great a bus for everything except the hi hat. Add distortion to that buss. You could then buss your hat t...

Re: I honestly have no idea where to begin.

Sorry for the frustration, mate. One thing I noticed in your message - the sample rate. This probably has nothing to do with it, but I've noticed when I record at 48khz in Live, my interface mirrors that as an input. However, other things that go into my interface that are not sending out 48khz, e.g...

Re: Ableton live 10 4k scaling issues [Mac]

Hey OP, Yeah - I have issues with 4K. I have two external 4K 27" monitors, and I can't run Live in 4K mode - CPU goes bonkers and my battery drains like crazy....even though I'm plugged into the wall. I have no solutions - apart from running my MBP at 1080 instead of native 4K. So, not identical to ...

Re: Compressing Drums. Why Do It?

Great question and great answers. In my mind, those slower attacks, faster releases are usually for the subtle gluing together of drum components - it can gel things together quite nicely - whereas the quicker attack times are more useful for shaping sounds. Personally, some compressors I simply lov...

Re: Old 90s synth using as midi cuts out after key pressed ONLY with grand piano

So, isn't that how piano's are supposed to work? Are you asking how to keep the sound sustained? Is this about the actual Kawai K4 piano, or the Ableton version of Grand Piano.

I'm confuzzled.

Re: specific question about the gear I have (connecting multiple audio interfaces)

Not sure if this helps... You can certainly connect your Apollo to the Saphire VIA optical. Works like a charm. You'll be able to access all of your Saphire inputs using the UAD mixer software. I have my X4 hooked up to my Focusrite 18i20. However, to get them talking can be a bit of a pain/trial an...

Re: KONTAKT 6 NOT LOADING PROPERLY IN LIVE STANDARD 10

That is odd. I'm working on a sonification project right now, and Kontakt is cruising along nicely. It almost sounds like Live is trying to use an older version of Kontakt (the browser/GUI thing makes me think that). Have you checked that, mate? I know it's a long shot...

Re: East West Play VST 3

Hey hey - thought I'd chime in here, too. Sorry for all the frustrations, OP - like the other guys here, I can concur that Play is a POS. It's unstable and wonky which is a shame because composer cloud is a great offering. While I still have a sub, once it runs out in Jan I won't be renewing...I've ...

Re: Free Pack of Operator Presets - test 'em for me?

Mate - these are wild! I don't have anything to offer, but I went through all of them and played around - fantastic job. Honestly, I didn't know you could get sounds like your SuperJuno preset out of Operator. That one sounds so tasty and warm. All of these are sweet. You've got some great racks bui...

But also, give Splice a try ;)

Sorry, TD! I do totally agree that it's so easy to not use Splice - I have 8 zillion rolled over credits.

I'll tell ya exactly what that sounds like - happened to me with an Izotope product.

Check you're not running a demo version of any of their software...sounds silly, I know.

Re: Why won't my 3rd party plugin record?

What's the name of the plug-in? My guess is that the virtual keyboard isn't actually an input device. However, you don't need an external controller. You can write in the notes using the midi clip editor, or you can click the little keyboard icon on the top right and your computer keyboard is transf...

Re: Synth keeps freezing

I’m so sorry mate. I’m frustrated for you. A primo piece of kit like that shouldn’t be giving you issues.

It sounds like either your prophet is a lemon or the Firmware is super unstable. Can you not return it?

Re: Synth keeps freezing

You know, I've had midi-clock issues with my Prophet. For the life of me, I can't remember how it fixed it, but I'm pretty sure I turned local to off. Arp patches can be a nightmare with midi clock too - especially since Live doesn't transmit that data while it's not playing. You tried messing with ...

Re: Return on Drum Rack Weak Wet Signal

Like this: 1. Put your drum rack on a MIDI channel, with whatever samples you're using in the cells. 2. Add as many audio tracks as you have instruments in your drum rack. 3. On each audio track, in the Audio From dropdown, select the drum rack track. 4. On the second drop down below Audio From, you...
