Re: How to set my kick to the groove of a guitar loop

Hey jonel, Unless I'm crazy (possible), you can visually line both waveforms up using arrangement view. Put both of your clips on separate tracks in the arrangement (copy and paste them over from session view), and then you can double click the kick track to view it in the editor mode at the bottom ...

Re: Send PC and BC to Sequential Rev2 via Ableton

Great answer, TLW. I was wondering if there was flakiness involves. OP, I found my Prophet does some super weird midi insanity and causes program change messages to either not register or are delayed (even to the point of me manually changing programs on the Prophet). The culprit - USB midi clock wa...

Re: Drifting out of pitch??

Maybe the pitchwheel on some MIDI controller started malfunctioning? That sounds like a good suggestion. When you record the midi clip, you mention it also records the pitch drift. Have you checked to see if any midi automation is being recorded with the clip? What about if you disconnect all contr...

Re: Send PC and BC to Sequential Rev2 via Ableton

Hey there! Great question. You got everything hooked up via USB or traditional MIDI cables? Program change works perfectly (do far) with my Sequential Prophet 6, but I have the same problem as you with my Novation Super Bass Station. The Novation is hooked up via regular midi, and half the time igno...

Re: Audio issues

Well, that certainly sounds odd.

Questions:
- What kind of headphones are you using?
- What kind of speakers do you have?
- What kind of audio interface do you have?

How do other tracks sound (ones you haven't produced) on your speakers versus your headphones?

Re: Pls recommend synth to complement Peak!

Oh nice - and congrats on being able to get rid of stuff! I got the Prophet 6 - very easy to program mate. The Pro 3 looks outstanding! For bass stuff, I've actually got a really old Novation Super Bass Station. That's got some beef to it - but I'm excited for you and the Pro 6. If you take the plun...

Re: Pls recommend synth to complement Peak!

Just to add to the fun - I recently purchased a Novation Mono Circuit and it is, by far, the most fun and portable synth I have. It's very hands-on, easy to use, and has a really killer sequencer/automation function which can produce some insane results. It is only a paraphonic/monophonic synth, tho...

Re: Macworld Luna review

Well, great article, mate - because of your writing I gave Luna another chance. Had no problems with authentication or iLok this time. No dongle. Nothing. Seems to be pretty interesting - the warping sounds pretty darn good to my ears. I'll send the article URL to a music-school buddy of mine. They ...

Re: Macworld Luna review

Thanks for posting. I need to give this a go. I downloaded it day one, but ran into the good old "where the f#ck is my damn iLok dongle" issue so I couldn't get to play. Then I got mad because I assumed it came with the Neve summing and the Studer...and, of course, they're $300 a pop. I don't think ...

Yeah, what miyaru said!

Also, check you don't have any delay compensation on any tracks - that will really mess with latency!

Re: FL Studio is killing the game right now

I'm guessing this is a trolly-type post, but I'll happily feed you. I'm sure FL has great free updates. I KNOW Logic (that I can't use to save my life) has great free updates - especially 10.5 the other day. Ableton - I loved all the free updates, no complaints. But I've also loved the upgrades, too...

Re: Can't Pitch Bend & Transpose Wavetable for long modulation?!

Yeah - I think you can do this, and I just tested it, too. Use Pitch Bend automation in your clip, and in the Matrix section of Wavetable, make sure you have PB/Pitch set to max value of 48. In the clip, make sure you have a clean automation line and not a stepped one (i.e. you're not in Draw Mode)....

Re: Keeping it light, clean and organized

You know, I learned a trick today which is kinda related. I had a bunch of Arturia plugs on my hard drive which were taking up too much room. There was no option to move the default folder to another folder or drive, which was a bummer. I found a post on Gearslutz that spoke about symbolic folders. ...

Re: Unable to Sidechain Anything.

Live does come with default plugins. Those are not plugins, they're devices: native instruments and (midi) effects. Plugins are things you insert into something and which you can turn on and off, does not apply here. Rule #1 about asking for help is to be specific about what you're asking about and...
