Workflow Question: managing audio from external instruments
People- The last few years I have been using external instruments (synths) a lot more than the previous 10. I suspect that is a common situation. Im curious how people are setting up their workflow to handle this. I am currently using multiple tracks (zero or more for midi clips and one to capture t...

Solo-safe with summing
Hi all- Just thought I'd share the way that I get solo-safe behaviour with live 10, which is extremely useful for analogue summing. The problem, as many have pointed out, is that there is no such thing as solo safe audio tracks in live, as there is is other DAWs. So if you solo a track which is poin...

Vocal Comping improvements
I love the new nested folders. Now use them to give us comping! Takes, lanes, quick swipe....whichever model you prefer but please please please.

Re: Ableton mixer
I can help here. The Mackie MCU pro and MCU pro extenders work great with ableton. You can have hardware control of up to 32 tracks. I wish the Icon Platform M and Platform X worked, but alas the Platform X software is useless and the tech support is non existent. Avoid Icon, even though their hardw...

Re: Usb 2.0 Hub for Push2 and other MIDI devices opinions?
I use push, and lots of other stuff, through USB hubs extensively, both on the road and in the studio. The key thing is getting a quality item, more than whether it is 2.0 or 3.0. There is a lot of poorly made stuff out there. One brand I have had success with is Plugable...they actually have techni...

Re: 19" Effect Unit
Its great value in the second hand market. One thing to note is that its digital only 44.1 or 48 ... i run at 96k so i integrate it in the analogue domain.Mark Williams wrote:I have read good things on the TC M-one xl...

Re: 19" Effect Unit
I have m-one xl. Reverbs are nice. Modulation decent. Other stuff hit and miss, but its there. I use it for live but not for recording. Honestly, valhalla plugin verb is probably better. You might consider an h9 though you'd have to add an impedance matching box. H9 is a really great set of stereo p...

Thanks @coupe70. Bummer.
@antic604 places that you can’t see the return tacks include:
- the live mixer when u have a ton of audio tracks for summing busses
- push in sends view

Re: iZotope Vocalsynth - worth it?
I've kind of liked the idea since its release, but I've always felt that I could achieve the same results with Ableton's vocoder and resonators. The pull for me would be that it's an all-in-one device. Does anyone own Vocalsynth? Would you recommend it? It's currently 50% off. I have it, its nice h...

Live 10: So can you label the sends yet?
So I see from various posts (I am not ready to beta yet) that we will now be able to label ins and out. Excellent!
Have we been given the ability to label sends so we dont have to remember where sends A B C D E F G go?
Answers or insights much appreciated.

Re: STILL NO COMPING?!
Comping was my number one desire for this update.
Im going to assume that nested stacks is a step toward comping....
COMPING SCHNELL, BITTE!!!

Re: Cut loop from audio recording using only Push 2? Impossible?
New push. User here, though not new to live...just adding my voice to this. Audio loops are a huge part of what i do I live I really hope its near the top of the heap for update soon! Its amazing how maschine and ableton each get this almost right but wrong enough to be horrible; the desktop workflo...

Re: Ableton 10 suggestions
Five things: - fix track midi so aftertouch and channel info does not get stripped. - expose everything in looper to the api so we can programatically move clips in and out of looper - stability! Crashes are rare but there are definitely memory leaks and interrupt handling bugs lurking within. - aud...
