Re: Progressive house

That was a bit of a harsh review. I did like the synth sound what did you use to make that synth?

Sample start

Does anyone know if this is possible? In arrangement view with a simple audio clip track (so definitely without simpler or sampler) I'd like to be able to control the start point of a sample with a midi controller. Key being to use the clip not midi track like Sampler. my end point is that i'd like ...

SoundCloud link in signature

Anyone know how to add a SoundCloud link in post signatures? For someone who doesn't know anything about code.

Re: How to cut sounds from loops in and out using a fader.

This is something I've been trying to do as well. Other DAWs have a mute block that can be added in front of audio tracks in arrangement, then moved around, copied, etc. As far as I know it's not possible in ableton. Either fader or encoder, I'd like to know if theres a way to automate mutes within ...

Re: How do I finally make my music sound "professional"??

Old thread but so relevant. I struggle with the same thing. I just posted my first two (real) tracks on SoundCloud and can really notice the contrast between my lower quality track in the professional track after I play them consecutively. Couple things I've read in interviews that I'm working on in...

Re: Question about monitors

Thanks everyone I think this makes sense. While we're on this topic, what are everyone's favorite monitors? Which ones do you have? Does anyone have opinions about the eighth A7Xs? How do you typically monitor kick drums which can have a fundamental at under 49hz? A 20Hz-20kHz spec is no good unless...

Re: Question about monitors

Thanks Tarekith. So I've seen $15 headphones with a specified range of 20 - 20hz. Is that just a matter of quality? Is it common to use mono subwoofer? How do you typically monitor kick drums which can have a fundamental at under 49hz? For small to medium sized nearfield monitors it's not that uncom...

Question about monitors

I'm finally moving from headphones to good quality monitors. I've narrowed it down to the Adam A7X monitors. However the frequency range only extends to 42hz. Is this common for near field monitors? If so how is the 20-40 hz range monitored? https://www.production-room.com/product-details/Adam-A7X-A...

Re: chill out kinda song

I was listening to other user submittals and heard shine again. You should send it to a lot of blogs and YouTube playlists. It's really good and should have more exposure.

Ambient hip hop

Just finished a track in two parts, an ambient dramatic intro and then reverse the sounds into an upbeat hip hop ending. https://soundcloud.com/dan-petrescu-3/major-4th Let me know what you think. One thing I just noticed, I listened to it in the car and the bass frequency is resonating extremely. i...

Re: Vocal extraction

I spent a long time trying to figure this out as well about a year ago. I came over to conclusions. 1. Download a cappella tracks from the beginning, either from YouTube or other sources. 2. You songs with vocals it inspires arrangement. With this approach you end up with unexpected and very interes...

Re: How to know the note of a sample

You could use Melodyne if you have money to spend. Drag the sample into Melodyne, it will then read the sample and tell you the key and scale.
