Observing Selected Notes

I want to constantly keep track of the currently selected notes in Live's Clip View, for displaying them on a nslider object. What's the best way to do this? This is what I came up with, but every time I select a new clip or Cut/Copy/Delete clips, my Undo history gets loaded with "Undo Change". I'm ...

Inputting different MIDI Channels

I just learned that Live can't handle multiple MIDI Channel numbers in a single track, and I'm trying to find the simplest solution for my situation. I want to add 2 or 3 pitch bend messages coming from different controllers into one single signal (fyi, one normal keyboard pitch bend wheel for bendi...

Re: Modulating Operator Filter or Volume Creates Artifacts

Just wanted to mention that I've just discovered Wavetable and I can't believe I haven't explored it earlier. It has everything I'm looking for : deep modulation and control capabilities and smooth modulation (none those nasty jean zipper sounds). I guess it didn't really appeal to me judging by how...

Wavetable Wishlists

I've recently discovered the wonderful capabilities of the Wavetable instrument. Here are a few feature wishlists I came up with : - Ramped Random LFO Shapes : this one has to be the number one priority. I was very surprised to not have that option, as it is very useful for smoothly modulating param...

Re: Modulating Operator Filter or Volume Creates Artifacts

nothing really to add, was just reading, and I never had heard of this expression control device. found this, and maybe it helps, maybe not: https://maxforlive.com/library/device/5695/expression-control-plus Yes, I'm the one who uploaded it! ^_^ So the problem lies in the live.remote object inside ...

Re: Modulating Operator Filter or Volume Creates Artifacts

Thank you both for your replies. Yes, I'm using the Expression Control device. I've tried Remote mapping and it's much better. So the problem lies in the live.remote object inside M4L patches? Do you guys know why this is happening? I really want to control my instruments in a complex and precise wa...

Modulating Operator Filter or Volume Creates Artifacts

I'm trying to create a sine mono instrument controlled by my breath controller, with the breath modulating the volume as well as the filter cutoff frequency. I'm trying to use Operator for FM modulation, but when there's any abrupt modulation of any of the volume controls (OSC Level, Sustain Level o...

How to know which device an error is referring to

I'm using a big Live Set with lots of M4L devices all over it and I keep on having these errors when I change the Live transport. Is there any way of knowing which device is causing these errors? the "Show Object" button isn't doing anything (I'm guessing the device itself has to be open in Max to s...

Re: Scanning User Library Crashes Live 10

If there are any folders named "Ableton Project Info" contained within your User Library - delete them, and try to scan the user library again. Had a similar problem early on in the v10 beta, and another user figured it was related to these "Ableton Project Info" folders. That solved it! Thank you ...

Re: Scanning User Library Crashes Live 10

It happens when a project contains another project. Looked at all my Project folders and didn't see any secondary project folder in them. Still crashes. If there is a Live Set file inside a folder that's named, for example, "Ideas", would that folder be considered a Project folder, even if there is...

Re: Audio samples constantly re-buffering

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 I doubt that would be the case. There is however a big number of audio samples in that set and quite long ones (it's a DJ set in which I've put a large number of tracks). Just wondering if that happens to anyone else a...

Audio samples constantly re-buffering

Hi, I have an issue mostly when I have audio playing with another application such as iTunes or Chrome. When I go back to Ableton, all of my audio clips need to buffer again, just like when I first load the set. It makes the whole set very slow to respond and takes a lot of time when there's a lot o...
