I just tried and I can't reproduce. Older backups are automatically moved to the bin here (on macOS Monterey)

If your sets have a different name that could explain it. Eg if you numbered them « my set 1 », « my set 1.2 » etc Live will backup up to 10 version for each number/name.

When did this problem start happening? What did you change last before?

Channels are both stereo and (dual) mono, it just depends on the clip currently playing. Most plugins work with what they’re fed with, with some exception for some Waves plugins. Beatseeker doesn't work on P3S, it would need to be updated (incompatible Max objects)... which is very unlikely.

Shit, I just found out you don't need to put them in an instrument rack, you can just save a preset as is. That's right. The bonus with racks is that you have macros ready to access, but that's an extra step to map indeed. Plus I'm not sure it'll always work depending on the plugin's format and the...

The workaround is to save your VST/AU presets in instrument racks.
