One physical control, two macro knobs, how?
Okay, I know how to map a single CC control to a single Macro knob, and I know how to map a single CC control to two Macro knobs. What I don't know how to do is treat each macro knob as a bank of macro knobs whereby I can turn that CC knob but only control one of the macro knobs and not turn both of...

Filtering Velocity on a single note MIDI FX Rack not working
- Create a single track that transmits on the IAC Bus. No particular MIDI channel. No MIDI Input - Open a MIDI Monitor application and turn off "clock" under realtime so you can see what's going to happen. - Add a MIDI Effect Rack to that track. - Create two chains in that rack. Give them ...

OSC TouchOSC M4L in Connect, confusing...
I have TouchOSC on my iPad. I chose the LiveControliPad Layout. Now, the questions: 1. Does it matter which track I drop the OSC TouchOSC M4L device? 2. It seems that the device is limited to 8 assignments. How in the world does one utilize the entire LiveControliPad Layout if this is the case? 3. W...

Re: Automation can't be this difficult...disabling itself...
OMG...so on a hunch, I simply turned off the REMOTE button on my IAC Driver "Input" and the problem went away.
What's that all about?

Automation can't be this difficult...disabling itself...
In arrangement view, I have a single MIDI track with an instrument. There's a clip in that track. I want to draw a curve to adjust the mixer track volume. So, I right click the track volume indicator and click "Show Automation in New Lane" Then, I draw in a curve to change the mixer volume...

Re: Midi note tha triggers "go to last locator" command. Help :)
Create a MIDI Track. Send the MIDI out through a virtual midi port (IAC Driver on a Mac). Put a clip in the arrangement and draw a note in the clip. Play the arrangement, click the MIDI assign button, and then click the locator. Wait until the playhead hits the note in the MIDI track and it will be ...

Monitor IN lets it all flow through...
...however, if you record any MIDI in that track, you'll need to switch it back to AUTO for the clip to take control.

Re: Problems with different midi channels and drum rack
You have your input set to All Ins, All Channels. This is why your keyboard is triggering the drums. I wouldn't put each pad on its own channel. Just run a single channel and let the note values be the different pads, and the velocity of the pad control the dynamics of each sound. You're using up wa...

Soundflower (2CH). Set your computer's output to SoundFlower (2CH). Set Ableton's Input to SoundFlower (2CH). Setup an audio track with the same input settings. Arm the track or set the monitor to IN. You'll notice latency if you're recording audio from a video...and you need to make sure you increa...

Track 1: No MIDI Input. MIDI output set to Network Session 1 / Channel 15. Track 2: No MIDI Input. MIDI output set to Network Session 1 / Channel 16. We have one other point of adjustment. The main outs from the QU-32 feed into a QSC Rave 522UA DSP which is only adjustable by rocket scientists with a Windows workstation ;). What's the correct order of operations, assuming we just installed the entire system and haven't touched any levels yet? Am ...

Re: Create MIDI Note On command from two trigger sources
You could: 1. Put a trigger on the kick and connect it to a track with a bass instrument. 2. Drop a midi pitch shifter into the track. 3. Program automation to change that shifted pitch. The kick would always play the same note, but the MIDI pitch shifter would change the pitch during the loop, prov...

Re: Virtual Music Stand using video output for Chords and Lyrics
So, we use ProPresenter, OnSong, and Ableton Live. Currently, our WL prints out music for everyone. I'm the only one who uses OnSong. No paper for me please. I have OnSong listening to Ableton Live via two tracks so songs are called up automagically, and then sections are triggered. It's a network m...

Re: Using Live on stage to control parameters
What you're looking for is possible, but takes lots of time and energy to build out. Once it's done, it's magical...but you've basically covered everything that I've spent tons of time hammering out. You need to explore a few things: 1. IAC Bus (virtual MIDI) to control elements of one track from an...

4 beats per measure. 4 16th (1/16) notes per beat. It's basically simple math...if you know how fractions work.
