well - i didn't even get as far as installing live.

regarding the focusrite soundcard, i've been using it for five years now with my windows laptop, without any issues.

of course i could still try installing that driver on my friend's mbp (similar model, mid 2012). or i could bring the focusrite ...

i've just talked to them at the shop, asked them to pay me back my money. they firmly insist that nothing is wrong with the computer, & that it's me who caused the destruction of the OS by doing the wrong thing. i said that i cannot accept that. will have to wait ...

indeed i find the idea of having to get yet another piece of new gear - just because i bought a mac - quite silly. i use the saffire only for playing audio, without any additional software from focusrite, but I don't think i will get anywhere ...

It seems that I'm having the same problem. After I upgraded, I cannot play any of my projects - the CPU goes mad! Before, all had been fine. Helpful tips are much appreciated.
