We have a mashup-duo called Skillnicker.
We use Ableton live 8 on two computers + two launchpads and some extra gear to mix between loops such as acapellas, drums etc sorted mostly in key.

We are only using audio-clips.
And we have a whole bunch on them.

Some is used several times during the gig, others just once!

I'm doing mashup's in Live, and you always ends up with a bounch of loops from 5-6 songs.
but the whole songs are saved in the liveset even if I only use 10% of each song.
Can you cleanup in some way, all the parts that is not used?

I´m looking for a new laptop, the one I have now will get a new owner.

The one I have decided is the best buy for me, have 2 configurations.
The two are exactly the same, except for CPU and RAM.

1: 1.86 Ghz Pentium Mobile, 512mb ddr.
2: 2.00 Ghz Pentium Mobile, 1024mb ddr.

No 2 is 265$ extra ...

I didint mean to start a mac/pc war.
But many people who HAVE A MAC, have complained about live with i g4.
So i wanted to know if that was better now with v.5 or not!

I am a PC person today... but thinking in investing in a mac.
A 12" or 15" powerbook. 1.67ghz i think the new one´s are.

But i have heard that live 5 dont work that good with mac G4 processors.
compared to a PC, especially if the pc laptop have a Pentium Mobile processor.

I have a midiclip that loops, a bassline for example.

How do I play the clip as a loop, and at the same time lets my midicontroller play with the vanguard.
