On win10 here but am seeing similar, higher than I would expect cpu spikes and the cpu overload marker but when compared to all of my logical processors in the task manager, everything is low as I would expect, I wonder if the calculation live uses is over compensating in some way?

When not sure, just do both. Record/bounce your part dry and with effects. With digital audio track count isn't really a problem. Or for the most flexibility record/bounce a dry signal and a 100% wet one. Then you can adjust relative level in the mix over time and treat them both again separately if...

It works fine but I tend to run massive in its own plugin outside of KK myself too.

Lol for the late response but I got in touch with Ableton and eventually rolled my os back to Yosemite, which sorted it out.

I've had this, also running 32bit version on my pc, couldn't find the cause at all. Tried deleting all the tracks one by one, some times this sorted it but others not so. Rebooting the pc seemed to fix it here, started to worry my pc may be on its way out but haven't had the issue since... Certainly...
