Re: Mixing/Mastering help
To me it sounds the biggest issues are that when the drops happen, the synths are the same volume as before. And while you introduce the drums, they're a bit quiet in the mix. So the drop suddenly has drums, but they lack impact being buried behind the synths. Sounds like you're trying to compensat...

Re: Mixing/Mastering help
Hi, I've been working on some tracks and have come across some issues while mixing/mastering. I'm confident it's a mixing problem but as a beginner I have no way of knowing for sure. The track I'm using as my example is a Future Bass track I made. My problem is that the track sounds ok up until the...

Feedback on house track
I just finished a prototype for a progressivish house song I'm working on. I've only been producing for about a year so I am still very new to this. I have yet to share something that I've worked on other than to very close friends so this will be eye opening I'm sure. This is my first attempt at an...

Re: Sub bass issues
Import the song you are comparing yours with into ableton and add an eq 8 to the track. Study the frequencies and see where the differences are between yours and it. That will get you a little way along for sure but then if you find that your frequencies are lacking in certain places there is a Lot...

Re: Sub bass issues
Sorry for the late response everyone! I'm a college student so I had to focus on my finals. I was able to take some of the advice given and apply it to my track. I was able to successfully get a sound I was satisfied with. I had originally had my filtering for my sub bass at 100 hz. The problem was ...

Sub bass issues
I just finished up a dubstep track a while ago and compared it to some commercial tracks (Au5's Blossom, Knife Party's remix of Porter Robinson's unison). I noticed that after comparing them, mine was lacking a serious amount of bass while listening to it in my car with my 10" sub and on my spe...

Building a PC what sound card should I get?
Hi, I'm currently building a new pc and I may have to get a new sound card for my build. I don't know much about soundcards, what should I be looking for to handle everything I need for electronic music?

Black Friday+student discount
This has probably been answered before but Black Friday is coming up and it's a great time to save some money. I remember last year ableton had 20% off or so on all of their products including live suite. I am a full time college student and I've been wanting to jump on the 40% discount they have fo...

Re: Looking for a good VST Synth for around $200
Any of these ones you mention will do. People think very highly of them, and for good reason. Zebra seems really customizable, and I know several people who really love it. There's no way around just trying a bunch of demos, and see which one you enjoy the most. My favourite softsynth for making so...

Re: Looking for a good VST Synth for around $200
Thanks for all of the replies everyone! I should mention that I am more interested in crafting my own sounds instead of using presets to keep my sound unique and separate from other producers.

Looking for a good VST Synth for around $200
Hey there, I am fairly new to music production but I have a firm ground that I am standing on as far as understanding the concepts of producing EDM. I have produced a couple of tracks that I am satisfied with using Ableton's stock plug-ins. I would like to start moving away from Ableton's instrument...

Re: Bad sound quality (sizzling) on iPhone speakers
Before I saw this I isolated the problem to my synth patches that I had made but I could't figure out why they were the issue. Now that you say that however I did have mid/side eq'ing done to them to thicken them up a bit. I will see if removing it solves the issue. I guess I will have to find anoth...

Re: Bad sound quality (sizzling) on iPhone speakers
Problem is still there after lowering the width on the utility. I have been experimenting with other methods in the mean time. I filtered out frequencies from low mids and highs in different tracks and tested them individually. The track I tested with the filtered out highs seemed to have the most i...
