I just made a comparison test on a 2016 MBP Touch Bar, 15inch, 2.6ghz on Ableton Live, 44channels of software instruments, tested when idle:

44100 khz sample rate, 512 buffer
RME Fireface 400- 13.2 ms latency
Focusrite Clarett 4Pre - 12.2 ms latency ...

i would say throttling because of heat issues is a thing of the past..

I actually can't wait longer than until the end of january 2017 :) It's just more economic for me tax wise now and I know I won't have such next opportunity to upgrade my 2010 MBPro anytime soon...

So if You are using sonnet thunderbolt adapter You (theoretically) are bound to limitations and potential of thunderbolt. Would You say the difference between this kind of setup and Firewire/USB is noticeable?

update on the Ableton Live version 9 - You should also type in channel number in the file like so: (if you use channel number 1 then type in 0):

well he posted in aug 08 2013 " Development and support of SLUltimateControl script now discontinued" so that probably means he does not have time for the project anymore. It was his voluntary work for the community.

hi guys - does the script eventually work with live 9.5 ?

I am about to buy novation sl mkII as an ableton controller especially because of roman's great script so this information would be really handy.
