Well.... I have a UC44 that use in conjunction with a Launchpad Pro in live performance - so similar to your needs. In short, I love it:


16 faders, always there for quick access (I run about 10 to 12 tracks of drums and synths, and then a few returns and master - fits in 16 tracks, no banking ...

Another small bug: TnT Cymbal, the volume isn't MIDI mappable. The volume on all the other TnT drums is.

I agree, for many things, text code in an imperative language is going to be much easier. (Of course, I'm a software engineer by day, so I might be biased by what I know well.)

Before I was using Live I wrote my own percussion step sequencer: It uses a Launchpad as an interface and generates MIDI out.
I'd like to re-write this and bring it into Live. My aim is to have close integration. For example, rather than it's own pattern storage, it should just use clips.

Note, when I open a Live set with serveral Timbre instruments, I see this in the Max for Live console:

Sorry took so long to get back... vacation (w/o laptop!) and then first album release.... BUT - seems to have resolved itself after the last OS update (10.11.6). I'm not at all sure that it was really correlated with that update, but things seem settled now.

I purchased T&T during the recent Ableton sale... and then was please to get the immediate update. I love the functionality, and especially the drum sounds, and ability to manipulate them so dramatically either by hand or by LFO...

Two questions:

1) This is the first thing I've added to my set ...

There are so many ways that a track can go silent... and when it does and you don't expect it, it can be hard to figure out why...

My idea is that when hovering over the track meters in either Session or Arrangement view, if the track is silent (or mostly so) it will offer the most likely cause or ...

Bump: Is this still not possible in 9.5? I really don't want to look at sharps when my key has flats...
