Re: Looping audio with the looper effect
I can loop guitar (audio) or midi instruments in the Looper plugin. Without any special steps.

Re: Ableton and Guitar Rig question
Ok, just a follow up for anyone here interested in running Guitar Rig in Ableton and accomplishing independent control of effects per channel strip. I joined the Native Instruments forum and found an answer. Not thru NI or Guitar Rig, but thru Ableton and Max 4 Live. You can group effects into racks...

Ableton and Guitar Rig question
Hey guys. This may be more of a Guitar Rig question, but I have ditched my pedals and have embraced looping and running my effects thru Ableton Live. My patience with hardware loopers ran out. So I'm still somewhat new to Guitar Rig. I'm using 2 Logidy UMI-3s to send the midi commands to Guitar Rig ...

Re: Looping capabilities with Live
I've found that I bounce back and forth between looping with the Looper plugin and looping with clip slots. If I have a riff that I'm starting the song with, either guitar or midi, and there is no beat or established tempo going yet, I use the Looper plugin. You can set it to set the song tempo and ...

Re: Midi record- Wait for note
Just started a thread on this subject and then dug this old one up. 3 years later and Live still can't do this? Really?

Start recording when signal is received
Hey guys, I'm trying to arm a track to record as soon as I start playing, with no count in. I'm aware of a 'dummy clip' idea, and I know that the Looper can somewhat achieve this. But I have a riff with note repeat on in a set tempo. I'd rather create a clip slot instead of a loop in Looper. I found...

Re: Assigning footswitch ports?
I posted this a while back and it's kind of sunk now. Just wondering - since I'm using a Boss Fs-5U in footswitch port 2 to trigger recording slots, I hear that there is a way to program the port 1 (sustain) to do something other than sustain - IF you have M4L. Which I do. How is this done? I'd like...

Re: Assigning footswitch ports?
ive actually been considering purchasing this item : https://www.amazon.com/Logidy-UMI3-MIDI-over-Controller/dp/B002YL81RW/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 reviews seem very positive and it seems to be very functional with ableton. ultimately I cannot imagine hand free / foot based looping being...

Re: Creating a multi sampled instrument in Sampler
Alright, I went back to EXS24 and discovered a different way to bring the .wavs in. Instead of dragging all of them into the edit window, I went to the zone tab and there is a 'load multi samples' option. This solved the polyphony issue I had been running into before. I then opened Live and imported...

Re: Creating a multi sampled instrument in Sampler
Thanks @Pitch Black. I have already successfully imported most of my EXS24 factory sample instruments that I use regularly in Logic, and it worked great. That was one of the reasons I upgraded from Standard to Suite. When it was time to import some 3rd party sample libraries I use, I started buildin...

Re: Creating a multi sampled instrument in Sampler
Right. You mean like this? http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m63/spencerwilson/Bass%20Viola_Live_zpszgvbcgqu.png It works, yes. But it's ridiculously labor intensive. If I have 4 octaves, I'm sliding these zones for each note 49 times? Manually mapping each note? I appreciate the help, but thought ...

Creating a multi sampled instrument in Sampler
Hi guys. I'm fairly new to Live, moving on from Logic. I'm using Live 9 Suite and I'm trying to create a multi sampled instrument. I'm using Sampler for this. Each note I am importing to make the instrument is a .wav and is named C1-C5. The sample is from a cello. Is there an easy way to bring these...

Re: Using Logic Instruments in Live via Soundflower
That's what I meant, Cycling 74 dropped it and Rogue Amoeba picked it up to further develop it and charges for it. There's a signed driver version for El Capitan here - https://github.com/mattingalls/Soundflower/releases/ - from the original developer. That may be my problem, I'll have to try it. If...

Re: Using Logic Instruments in Live via Soundflower
Thanks for the reply. So someone picked up Soundflower and you have to pay for it now? Nice.
Routing is the same as what I have going now.

Using Logic Instruments in Live via Soundflower
Hey guys. Hoping someone could help with this. I'm a long time Logic user moving on to Live, so I can perform what I've composed in Logic. I am using Soundflower to route out of Mainstage into Live via the external instrument channel strip. I've researched this and watch multiple tutorials. I have t...
